Happy anniversary FCM & FCD!!!
So you went toBobEvans for your anniversary breakfast? How romantic!
Nemo You need that sub!
Brought Wifey home from the hospital yesterday and have been waiting on her hand and foot. Her recovery is going well, even better than last time, for which we are grateful, but she’s not going anywhere for a few days.
At least it’s not raining, or, thank og, snowing here. Snow does not bring out the best in Orygunians.
Glad you liked the soap Butters. Don’t worry about any strange looking spots that may develop on your skin. They’ll go away. Eventually.
The bad thing about buying a ham is all the ham you have left over, for days. I made Cuban rice the day after, we’ve been eating ham sandwiches for a week, and I just put two bags of sliced ham in the freezer.
Keeping with the pig theme: Tonight’s dinner will be pork chops with green beans cooked with bacon.
Nice day off with napping and food and stuff. Got the horse=pistol stuff done early and the xrays are off to Doc Liz. Since she didn’t call right away I am guessing nothing drastic is involved. Tomorrow is a double so I get the honor of praying for myself at Church in the AM.
The problem with late afternoon winter naps is, you wake up and the clock says “5:00”, did you sleep for 45 minutes, or 12 hours?:dubious: But bathroom and kitchen are clean. Gordie has walked, dishes done and put away, and I went out and bought beer and filled up the gas tank. Still snowing here, but not sticking. Yet.
OK, there’s something ever-so-slightly disturbing when the term “lube” shows up in a cooking post…     And it turns out, I’ve been sweating onions for years - now I know I’m not just frying them.
The party last night was nice, tho the drive there was a tad unnerving since the snow was coming down in big flakes, so driving gave the illusions of light speed. We hung around for a couple of hours, had some snacks, talked to a bunch of people, then bailed around 9:30 or so. Yeah, we’re party animals!
And I was awake at 4 this morning, dammit, but that gave me a chance to finish reading the Y book. I’ve also tidied the kitchen in anticipation of more cookie baking later today. Dunno if we’ll venture out - it’s 27° at the moment.
And before I’m accused of abusing smilies, I think I’ll wrap this up. Happy Sunday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 32 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 50 and N.O.S. for the day. We shall deheathenate this mornin’ and have chili and cornbread for N.O.L. Nappage shall also be achieved.
Bumba glad the wifey is home and you are lookin’ out for her. May she heal soonest.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose purtification for deheathenization must be accomplished.
Went to bed early last night; left the tubeage on in case I woke up to watch some SNL but must have rolled over on the remote because when I did wake up the TV was on a slightly-lighter-than-turned-off-black & silent input screen.
Currently got you beat by 2°. I will be going out; question is when & for how long. Should I go to the park & get some good snowy trees/sun pix even though they don’t officially open until 8am? Should I do the 5k race that my fiend talked about? (That will finish my goal of a race a month for the whole year.) I want to do PeepFest on the 31st, but if the weather’s shitty I’m out of time for a Plan B. Decisions, decisions, decisions. But first, a blueberry muffin.
Having breakfasted, I’m showered, dressed, and wasting time before baking more cookies.
I put in a Hold Mail request for the time we’ll be in FL - here’s hoping they don’t screw it up and stop delivering tomorrow. Last time I put in a request, the immediately put a hold, even tho I’d selected a date a month away. So we shall see…
The day dawned crystal clear and 48F. Brrr! At least the house heat worked OK; I think this was its first test since last Feb.
Completed some online course work for irk and had my coffee. So the day is officially not a waste no matter what else doesn’t get done.
@Mom: Yeah, I knew you knew sweating, if not by that name.
Waking up hard about halfway through the sleep cycle is a common side effect of drinking alcohol. Doesn’t have to be to excess; as we get older one drink is enough to trash sleep. Which means any booze should be had at lunchtime, not at/after dinner. This getting older stuff (me, not you of eternal youth) sux. :D.
I’ve also had the opposite problem with USPS, where after we return they refuse to restart home delivery until the third visit to the PO and a firm talk face to face to the postmaster hissef. Good luck.
Where (roughly) in FL are you going & when? Joint partyage is a possibility unless you’re still 400 miles away.
I think the last time I had anything alcoholic to drink was one Kahlua and Cream on Thanksgiving, so that’s not the cause of my screwed up sleep cycle. It’s just one of those stoopit things I deal with periodically, because my brain and my body hate me.
I appear to be in pretty much the only part of the country which isn’t getting any white stuff today. I feel a bit left out- it’s not as though I have to go anywhere, and it’s windy enough that the noise woke me at 6am, and raining, so I’m sat in anyway. May as well have more interesting precipitation.
I’m trying to be good, and get on with the skool irk now, instead of leaving it last minute. It’s involving reading lots of very boring scholarly articles. Bleh.
