Don’t have anywhere I need to be so in da cave I shall remain. Today I shall make chili and do laundry. The excitatement that is my life knows no bounds!

The evil weather guys are now suggesting we might get and inch or two of evil white stuff this weekend!!! BLECH! Not enough to worry about shoveling the driveway, but enough that they’ll be treating the roads (probably) so my car will get all icky.
Arrived in the office to a list of 5 more sets of drawings that Tim wants by 12/22. Tim’s a funny guy! He’ll get 'em when he gets 'em.
But I will go back on full schedule after the first of the year, since our workload here is about to go crazy. I’ll give them as much time as I have until I re-retire when full-time grandmothering begins. In June… or July… or August, depending on when the kids get jobs.
But for now, just another day in paradise. Happy Firday!!

Tis all the way up to freezing now. Went for a walk this morning; no jacket but 5 layers on top.
Brrrr… It’s got all chilly here, with hail on and off all mornin’; no snow, but there’s some up country… Been putting up Christmas trees at irk (it’s holiday cottages, so there’s one in every cottage), and put up my own scant but tacky decorations in the flat.
I need to venture back out shortly to get some coffee, as I’m nearly out, don’t really wanna though, I don’t want to get hailed on.
Yawn. 30F when I crawled out of bed this Am. Looks to be the pattern from the next couple of months. But at least no snow.
Went out to get my paper and was immediately attacked by the neighbors’ dog–considering it’s a 4-lb puppy looking for scritches, I withstood the attack just fine and pup got scritched.
I got my first pari of glasses at the age of 7 and have worn various evolutions of glasses (progressives now) since then.

Up and adulting. Getting squared away for the Santa gigs I have booked and trying to work in an extra or two; looking over the dates I am committed to Da Jungle. Generally taking the Day-Runner and dividing it around in ways that can be fun. We got steady cold now and maybe some light snow this weekend but predictions for accumulation are weak at the moment.
One of the 2 slices of bread I used to make my sammich was moldy. So I’m having an open-faced sammich for lunch. Could be worse, I guess…
Busy, busy day - I don’t think I’ve ever had so much paper piled on my desk and in my file baskets. Better than being bored, I guess…
It was 26 out when I took the dogs for a walk this morning. 2 of them promptly rolled in the frost, including old Pooka bear. Pepper was extremely put out that I would not let her roll too. Sorry kiddo. You still have staples and what not.
Hubby comes home today. I have some laundry to put away, and some shopping to do. I need to find a Devil’s Food or a Red Velvet cake recipe. I got a special cake pan for 'Beamette’s birthday and I plan to use it this weekend.
My surgery is next week. I’m sure I have some other things to arrange. I will begin freaking out shortly. Happy Firday everyone.
**Sunny **- are you one of those anti-cake-mix people? Several companies make red-velvet cake mix - I’m pretty sure I’ve used the Duncan Hines version.
I need to smoke ribs either this weekend or next. I also need to bake cookies. This may be a good baking weekend, since it’ll be cold and icky out. Next weekend looks better for smokeage - slightly warmer and no snow predicted.
Speaking of which - the forecast now says 3-5" of evil white stuff. I am greatly displeased. Dammit.

Looks like we’ll get accumulation of snow tomorrow. I like snow but the clouds means no sunrise, let alone multiple sunrises that was on the docket for early AM; might still get to watch it snow up, though (both balloon-related). I’m also not going to the Water Gap & then not going to save the world from some evil (clay) [del]flying rats[/del] pigeons.

There is some kind of puffy white stuff afallin’ from the sky in Metro Atlanta, and has been all morning. It’s accumulating on the asphalt now, which surprises me greatly. Just a few days ago the highs were over 60F. Now there is an inch of snow and on the road. Crazy stuff. I shall head home from da office about 4:00 today, before the temps get tempted to head any farther south.
