I make good chili. I just sampled the finished product. IMO it will be even better tomorrow as chili is better after it sets overnight. I’m thinkin’ tomorrow will be a scramble dawg day. I have cabbage so coleslaw can be made. 'Tis rainy, cold, dreary and icky outside. So glad to be inside and warm.
uh-oh. If memory serves, doesn’t the world end (traffic-wise anyway) when it snows in Atlanta?
Somebody convince me I should not spend sixty dollars buying this.
Why on earth should we do that?
Can I come round and play with it?
That’s a real blast from our collective pasts.
You might want to hurry before they sell out.
Late afternoon here. Had an admin heavy morning (approaching end of year for biz, taxes, etc.). Weather holding up nicely unlike the reports from Atlanta. We get our dose of (very light) winter starting Saturday afternoon.
SIL’s daughter (our niece) arrives today for a 3-week stay split between SIL & us. She lives overseas and makes one long visit to the US every Dec. She’s a little high-strung, but otherwise a lot of fun. Her bro will show up for 4-5 days around Christmas.
Back from an all day trip to the mainland. I am having sinus surgery in January which is what I expected. I think I have convinced hubby not to buy a $50K vehicle but who knows? He has a mind of his own.
ENT doc also wants me to find an allergist for some testing. Allergies cause sinus polyps. I will check around but I will not drive all the way to Miami for that. Ain’t happening. If I can find one local then I will go.
Came home to a box of Bumba soap. Smells devine. Can’t wait to use it. Thanks Bumba!
We supped upon beef ‘n veggie soup, chikin ‘n veggie soup, and chili. All three are superb I say immodestly. We have thunder and rain right now but that won’t last long. Rain is supposed to go away this evenin’ leavin’ us with N.O.S. and cold (for us) weather.
Dammit - I meant to open a new window but instead opened a new page in this window after I’d written a nice, longish post. All gone!!!
Summary - commute home took nearly 90 minutes because idiots here can’t drive when the wet roads are due to snow - melted snow, no less! IDIOTS!!!
Furnace has been repaired and Taz snuck out, unbeknownst to FCD. He was soon snow-covered and yowling at the door to come in. Idiot cat. And now he’s lying across my left arm.
If the forecasts are to be believed, we could end up with 6-10 inches before it all ends tomorrow. Two days ago, this system was supposed to be out over the ocean. HAH! We shall see if I have to break out a snow shovel or not.
Apart from the usual weekend chores, my plans for tomorrow and Sunday include bakeage of cookies. That’s a good snowy afternoon activity!
But for now, an evening of chillage is ahead.
I am cooking a pork tenderloin outside, and it caused me to wonder what grilling will be like during the zombie apocalypse.
A few weeks ago I expressed some concern about a potential scam when I was contacted unexpectedly via email. I am quite certain now it’s legit and will be a great work opportunity. Quite excited by it now.
Had a quickie dinner of leftover turkey & stuffing & fresh salad. That finished the stuffing and I’ve only got a couple more pounds of frozen turkey meat left. Almost time to roast another one.
We’re now watching the Grey Cup we recorded a weekish ago. That’s the CFL’s championship game. The football is solid. But its played outdoors in Ottawa in the midst of heavy snowfall. There’s a good 3" of snow on the field and we’re only half way through the 1st quarter.
I love’s me a good Blizzard Bowl. Not so good to be there in person, but great to watch on TV in a warm room while wearing shorts.
I got some sleet at work. Between the idjets on the road, the standing water, and working 11 hours on 4 hours sleep, I skipped Trivia Night. Making baked salmon with rice blend and bacon Parmesan spinach for dinner. But I have the weekend off ,so I got that going for me.
Do you suddenly have a compulsion to buy 3 whole tunas on Amazon?
OOOOOOO! Buy it!
Interesting that “Zombie Apocalypse” and “Snowing in Atlanta” appear in the same thread, as it is hard to tell the difference…
Had my grilled ham-n-cheese with french fires and sweet tea at a local restaurant (almost every Firday I go there and have the same thing) and did a (very) modest amount of cleaning. Tomorrow it’s back to indoor soccer for 7-8 hours, starting at age 5 and moving up to age 12 over that time. Well, it’ll keep me out of the cold.
I have a unique opportunity, available only to special, select people, for you to purchase the Brooklyn bridge! PM me, and I’ll give you may Paypal information.
I’m glad it’s working for you Batboy.
Way to go Spidey! You’re a good egg. Did David get his blanket yet?
nemo, the yellow submarine would be a great addition to my Lego collection; I don’t know about yours. (I’d go for the e-bay price though).
I hope your opprotunity pans out bat boy.
Irked, picked up 'scrips, bought mailing supplies and groceries, packaged up two family cookbooks and a sweater for Nelson’s sister to go to the PO tomorrow, picked up cheap Chinese for supper (soup 'cause it’s coooold) and am chilling.
Tomorrow, Nelson goes to the groomer for a shampoo, ear cleaning and to have his nails did.
The eBay one isn’t Lego, it’s “plastic bricks” (some kind of knock offs). Past experience says that path leads to crying and misery, even with Kragle.
Get the Lego one says I.
Believe it or not, one of Jan Brunvand’s books (I think “The Choking Doberman”, but I’m not certain) has a red velvet cake recipe that was my birthday cake each year for most of my childhood. Loved that cake recipe, and the frosting recipe with it is IMO a better bet than something as heavy as cream cheese frosting with this cake.
