I’m sick of it… i can’t get any questions answered… and alot of people are mean. I never posted in the bbq pit for a reason. I didn’t really feel like getting people pissed at me. It looks like I did. I’m not going to make any excuses.

He apparently worded it rather poorly(not to insult a poster, but I did find his syntax particularly confusing in this post) and was critiqued for it by several other posters.
When this happened OgreFade did what I like to call “over-reacting” and I’m pretty much understating it there.
All in all, a case of over-sensitivity. Sorry to lose you there OgreFade, you had some interesting ideas. But if you’re that poor at taking criticism then I’m not that sorry at all.

These guys don’t have any answers for your perfectly reasonable question. Your best bet now is to let go for a few days, until it drops of the radar, and try again. I wouldn’t even spell out the state. The first person to respond to a thread seem to set the tone, and it goes downhill from there. With luck, next time the first person to answer will know something of value and the hecklers will avoid the thread.
Sorry about that Ogre? The board has been overly pissy lately. Not too offend anyone, because that’s part of the reason I like it so much here. But lately it’s just been getting worse. I’m almost beginning to see why PCW left.

I can certainly agree with you Ophanim! I got flamed for an honest wuestion, and then there was some of the lamest scrutiny concerning my usernames Etc. and finally ended in my losing posting priveledges.
Things are clear now, and the fog has cleared, however I can see where the board has been a bit hyperactive lately.
OgreFade was quite cruelly and unfairly treated in that thread. Sarcasm and nastiness instead of answering his question, belabouring a point, it was almost like bullying. I’m ashamed of each and every one of you, and this thread is just showing you up to be even worse.
Ogre…hey, for what it’s worth, just deal with it and go on.
I made an ass out of myself, course that was my own doing, on one of the first postings I made.
Some people gave you shit over your desktop thread…and I haven’t really read through your GQ threads but I don’t classify you as a troll…although Socko is a troll in my mind.
Anyhow, keep posting fun topics and you will soon be respected as a poster…just a word to the wise, sometimes people get weird on here, it’s not your fault. Just get the feel for things here and what people respond to and you are in the clear.

This board is not for the thin-skinned. No matter how little or how much you post sooner or later your gonna get a smart assed answer. I hand out a few of those myself and have certainly gotton a few.
What you gotta do is just realize that you are posting to over 5000 readers out there and choose your words carefully. It’s always ok to say what is on your mind as long as it is in the right forum, legible and the sentences, syntax and structure make sense and is easily readable. Other wise someone on this board is gonna call you on it.
If you are really interested in posting on this board, then take a couple of days off from it and then post a topic that meet those requirements I stated above and watch what great answers you get in return!!

It’s true: This board isn’t for the thin-skinned. But what happened to Ogre on that GQ thread was completely uncalled for.
As I posted there, anyone who didn’t know he was talking about Massachusetts is a dimwit. And anyone who thinks they have a British accent there is too. The question was perfectly legitimate.
The guy has some trouble with spelling and grammar, to be certain. And as I told him, that’s like gasoline near an open fire here. But … **damn. **

I didn’t say all Massachusetts accents were British, just some. For example, William F. Buckley’s “upper class” accent has, I believe, very strong English roots.
