Ditto!
No way am I a Virgo. I will never stop being a Libra.
Gotta say, most of them make perfect sense (especially NY = Pizza :D) but WTF does green Jell-o have to do with Utah?
Green jell-o is a stereotypical potluck dish. It’s a Mormon thing (I think green bean casserole probably would’ve worked too, but I’ve never been to Utah)
I’ve finished the front page of my new portfolio website. (It’s not up yet). It’s spiffy looking. Now I just have to format a million pictures for the actually content pages.
Just thought of another song for ya Spaz, Sinking of the Reuben James, or how about Sink the Bismark?
The goddamned manual editing software at work is not working. Not only does it still write in Spanglish, not only does my copy accept “English (US)” as the only possible working language (and why? Why do they assume that their manual writers can only work in one language? I know a separate company does the translating, but hey morons, I can write in several languages! When I am, as I will, working for our UK subsidiary, am I supposed to write the manuals in Spanish and have a Texan translate them into English, really?), oh no.
I can’t edit one of the views because it requires a connection to the freaking server, and there is some sort of proxy issue, which of course the help person doesn’t see - because she sits on top of the server, maybe?
This “auto-fills-things” program is a great idea, but the PoS implementation makes screenshots in a ppt look good.
Menawhile everything else I’m supposed to work in are in other people’s hands right now these are the times when “working from home” would be a godsend… when on one hand I have stuff to do and on the other I have nothing I can do.
Mornin’ all! Up and caffeinating here - tried to log on last night but there were db problems with SDMB apparently. And in other news …
It’s finally FIRDAY!!!
Monday is Dr. Martin Luther King holiday in the U.S., so it’s a three-day weekend. Woot! There will probably be some cooking/baking in my house this weekend. Thanks for the taco soup recipe, Swampy; that is something I’m definitely going to crock pot fix in the very near future.
Have a good day all, the weekend is finally near.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Don’t have to be at irk ‘til nine o’clock this mornin’. I need to do a couple of home visits and that’s it, so should be a short Firday with Monday bein’ a holiday. So, YAY!
OYKW wants catfish again so we’s goin’ to the good catfish place for dindin. Works for me! He has also decreed that it shall be an eat out weekend. Hey, he’s buyin’ so all I gots to do is show “appreciation” for it.
Herbs the soup really is easy and nummy. Enjoy! Like I said it’s also easily doubled if’n you’re the type that likes to make and freeze stuff or have a crowd to feed.
Speakin’ of feed, rumbly tummy is gettin’ impatient and demands to be fed. So, off I go to forage, get more caffiene and purtify for irk.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Speaking of “Michael row the boat ashore” – and all the other songs talking about the “Mighty Jordan” or whatever… Have any of these song-writers ever seen “Rivecr” Jordan…? It’s a bit of an exaggeration to say one can jump across it; but not much of one. At it’s widest, and in the spring of an especially rainy year, it’s maybe 50 feet across. Not yards, feet.
**GT **-- she’ll be in for 2.5 year, during the last half year of which she’ll be drawing “real” salary. Compulsory (and essentially unpaid – about $120 a month – although as a service person a very basic food, clothing and board is of course covered by one’s unit) Service is 2 years for women and 3 years for men.
What about whatever that song was they played as the Titanic went down?
I have a new zodiac sign too, I’m that new guy, the muscle guy with the snake.
Fear me.
I’m watching as four trees are being planted in my yard… AND eating bacon.
If only every morning started off so pleasantly. I’d be as happy as a pig in a forest.
I’m in the waiting room at the dentist, playing on my phone with their free WiFi.
Swampy, that soup is making it into the rotation very soon! Yum! I already have veggie beef soup working. Also yum!
I forgot everything else I was gonna say.
Have a good Friday!
GT, we’ll be passing through Columbus Sunday morning on the way to Mooooooooomland. I’ll be sure to honk and wave…
Going on a side trip tonight to see my sister and DeNephew.
Not much else. Carry on.
You are ReallyBuffSnakeDude!
lieu the trees are eating bacon? Did they offer to share?
Rebo 'tis a worthy soup!
Howdy Y’all! My weekend has begun! YAAAAAAAAAY!!!
ETA: BBBobbio still shockin’ relatives?
That cracked me up.
I am not cool with the new Zodiac either. I am a Capricorn, not a Sagittarius!
Today’s a code transition day to try to get users onto the new server. I’m supposedly an “expert” so I have a lovely, bright red t-shirt to wear. Rah.
Me, too. I’m going to start singing it to baby.
We’ve had an exciting morning. Nat’s blood sugar skyrocketed last night and he was high this morning. When I tested him he was positive for ketones. He appears perfectly healthy. No sick, nothing. At least not yet. I’ve talked to his nurse and doctor and we’re on alert, but he ate lunch and his numbers came down and I’ve said screw it and handed him off to his grandparents to I can have a nap and get some work done.
Second test was ketone-negative.
I dunno.
I really, really hope he doesn’t get sick, because it’s his birthday and we have roughly twenty-five visitors tomorrow.
Keeping my fingers crossed for little Gnat, Li-Li.
I’m still a Taurus, and my husband is still a Virgo. My son however, is the new O sign and my daughter is now a Sagitarrius.
They keep updating the article to say different things. Basically, it boils down to the signs and dates staying the same as we’ve always known them.
In other news, I’m off today, but have many things to do. This is nothing new.
Okay, made chili and the soup is cooking. I’ll bake the cookies tonight or tomorrow. Cake is iced and in the basement away from prying fingers. Baby has helpfully been sleeping since 1:30. Fantastic.
I’m tired. I think we’ll have homemade mac’n’cheese with cheese sauce I made earlier this week for dinner. No vegetables. Well, maybe broccoli.
If you read my LiveJournal, this will be a repeat. Scruffy ran off. She was really bark-y when I came home, barking when we went into the garage then into the yard. While I was going to let Cozmo out, she went bounding into the woods, which she never does, then I saw her go thru the fence and into the neighbor’s yard, at which point she disappeared. No sense in calling her since she’s stone deaf. A while later, I heard a lot of barking, then nothing.
I can’t go after her because of assorted fences around yards, and I have no idea where she headed. Plus I can’t call her. So I keep looking outside to see if she’s wandered back. I’m thinking of driving around to the road that parallels ours in case she’s gotten that far. But if she doesn’t get back by dark, it could be really bad. Besides the cold, she’s almost black, meaning almost invisible in our unlighted neighborhood.
Stoopit dog.
I think I’ll toss Cozmo downstairs and take a little ride…
No luck. She’s so little, who knows where she might be. And there’s a small stream - if she got into that in this cold…
That second test is a good sign. On the first test, were the ketones large or small? No fever? Nausea? When our daughter gets that way, we set a temp basal on her pump to give her a little more insulin, and make her drink lots of water. If she’s sick and feverish, she gets one free puke: the next one, she goes to the hospital.
We’ll be praying for little Gnat and hope he’s totally better real soon! Don’t forget that taking care of yourself is a great thing.
