My cousin who had a brain injury before [sub]it was cool[/sub] Thanksgiving has now been flown to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Here’s hoping/praying/dancing widdershins 'round the old oak tree that they can do something for her to help her recover.
I need to stay out of the bag of Jelly Bellies. The ratio of buttered popcorn to edible flavors is getting dangerously high, which means it’s time to pass the bag over to Culinary Boy.

BBBobbio, since Monday is a holiday, I’ll be around. And I don’t have lunch plans yet. 
Altho I’m not free all day. I’m getting my windshield replaced in the morning (took a big stone this afternoon) and I’ve got an eye exam appt at 2:30 in the afternoon. But daughter is off, so if necessary, she can stay home and wait till my car is done, if you need my help in the morning. Just lemme know - I know you have my number.
PapaJohn will be making supper tonight. I just flat-out didn’t feel like cooking. So **FCD **will pick our meal up on the way home. But I did buy some ribs that I’m gonna do in the crock pot tomorrow.
Other than that, just another day in paradise. I’m hoping within a month, we’ll have a better idea of what’s gonna happen at work. I’m really feeling inclined to retire if they offer a big enough cash incentive, although I will hang on as long as I possibly can. And in the meantime, I may rearrange our budget so we do less fun stuff and retire debts/build up savings before I take the plunge.
Or we could win the lottery.

Anudder day of irk done. I’s alone tonight cause OYKW has a meetin’ poor thing. So, I’ve slurped down some taco soup. OOOH! Recipe for Rebo! I shall dig it out shortly I promise.

Taco Soup
2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 can pinto beans (black beans work too)
1 can whole kernel corn ,drained
1 can stewed tomatoes - mexican style
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 pkg. ranch dressing (optional. I do if’n I have some and don’t if’n I don’t. I’m a rebel!)
2 1/2 cups water or more, to make soup broth
Brown ground beef and onions. Combine all ingredients in large pot and let simmer. It can be made on the stovetop in about an hour and a half or let hang out all day on low setting in your slow cooker/crock pot. I usually double the recipe and let it go all day in the slow cooker cause I like to make a lot. It freezes well.
Serve with grated cheese (your choice, be wild and crazy!) chopped onions, big glops of sour cream and tortilla chips. Don’t be shy, go ahead and lick the bowl clean. I don’t judge. Remember I’m a rebel with ranch dressin’!
