This is something I really must share. I just stepped outside and it’s snowing! Not flurries, an actually accumulating snow. We’ve already got an inch of the white stuff on the ground, and it’s only been going since some time after midnight. Best of all, it’s Christmas Eve. I could count the number of white Christmasses we’ve had in this area since I’ve been here (23 years) on one hand with fingers to spare. I’m going to go take a walk in it. I don’t even care that it’s 2 AM.
We had snow here (Clovis, NM) Monday and Tuesday evening. The accumulation was about a half-inch each time, and it had all melted away by noon the next day. It’s clear and cold right now, and it doesn’t look like a white Christmas for us this year.
On the bright side, at least I don’t have to shovel it.
(Brushes snow out of his hair, with a big, silly grin on his face.)
Wow! That was beautiful! I love how quiet it is when there’s snow on the ground. It’s so cathartic. I forgot to mention in the OP that this is our first snow this year.
Yeah, I kinda figured some of you northern folk would take that attitude, Wally. I grew up near Chicago and can remember playing in a foot of the stuff during Thanksgiving. It is kind of nice to get it here, though. Don’t worry, it won’t be too long before I look out the window and say something like “[url=http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_297.html]kaniktshaq moritlkatsio atsuniartoq”. (Assuming I ever figure out how to pronounce it.)
