Who had a White Christmas?

Searched, didn’t see a thread on this topic.

Buffalo definitely did, although all the snowing was on the 24th. That made the driving today lovely, since the roads were salted and plowed overnight.

I’m not sure whether Manhattan did. I’m still waiting to hear from someone who’s holding down the fort at school.

Montreal’s snow covered and quite cold tonight. A little slippery thanks to this week’s freezing rain, but it’s a White Christmas.

We had a sort of white Christmas when we got hail on Christmas Eve when a typical Sydney summer storm came through.

Toronto did!

(Well, it was slushy and brown in some places, and it was wet and slippery and icy, but…)

It was a white Christmas for us!

Well, here in Gulfport (MS) we had the whitest Christmas in my memory…lots of tiny hailstones and a few actual snow flurries!

I did not, and I am thrilled to bits about it!

We had enough snow fall on christmas eve(late) into christmas morning to turn the lawns white but not enough to cause traffic problems. Very pretty.

I did. :frowning: There was nothing but old white people in my house tonight.

I had one! Louisville, KY area here. We got hit Wednesday night, and had roughly 7-10 inches, depending on where exactly you were. We still haven’t been dug out in my subdivision.

I hate every second of it, too.

There was snow on the ground in Romania. From the train, the Carpathian mountains and Transilvania were quite pretty, especially around sunrise. Cold, but not snowy though. The snow lasted until about Brasov, and was totally gone by the time the train reached Bucharest.

We got a few snow flakes, but that was about it.

Large parts of Ireland did, which is very unusual.

Not quite as unusual as Houston, though! Though I do remember a white Christmas when I was living there in 1972.

But the central area of SC is undergoing freezing rain the day after Christmas, so there is a neat icy layer on trees and power lines. That’s about as close as I’m likely to ever see in this area.

Well, Youngstown, OH had an icy Christmas - there was a thin layer of leftover snow on some of the grassy areas, but Wednesday’s storm was mainly sleet & freezing rain for us here. There was actually some sun for Christmas day.
Of course, with my ever efficient property managers…the parking lot of my complex is still mostly ice, which mainly just melted and ran yesterday, making things even worse.

It’s was snowing (a little, just snow showers) earlier this morning.

But they’re predicting almost 50 degrees by the end of the week!

I’m in Louisville, too, and we haven’t seen the mail truck, or UPS, or FedEx, or even trash pickup since Wednesday in our subdivision. A private plow truck did come down the street Friday morning, but by then, the snow/ice was too packed down, and all the plow could do was scrape off the top inch or so. We have managed to get DH’s Toyota out to get to church on Friday, and to get groceries, but my minivan will probably have to wait for the thaw later this week. I’m just glad we’re all on vacation anyway, so not being able to get places easily has given me a chance to get caught up on work.

I did, in Indianapolis. Sure reminded me of the side benefits of living in the Virginia Tidewater area…

[breaks out in song]

I’m dreaming of a green Christmas…

I happen to think y’all in Oz have it best. What better way to start your summer? New Year’s doesn’t count, however. Aussies don’t need an excuse to get ripped…

Bloody hell, are you kidding?

We already had plenty of snow when it started snowing yesterday. The new snow came down in huge, fluffy clumps, and clung to the tree branches like it was glue. Looking out my office window right now, white is by far the prominent color; the browns and greens of the tree trunks and pine needles are almost completely hidden under the snow.

This and this were taken 3-4 days ago. I’d say the amount of snow covering the branches and sticking to the trunks of the trees is about double now.

The UP has never not had a white Christmas, at least not in mine or my parent’s or grandparent’s memories.

I did! We had about a quarter inch of snow fall yesterday. And I am at home, check my location tag. It was the first time in fifty years it’s snowed on Chrismas Day.

Good thing I didn’t have to go anywhere, but it was beautiful!

Little bit, maybe an inch or so, here in Northern Ireland (I’m spending christmas with my parents). My dad turned 60 on Christmas day too, so it was really nice for him.

I did, if you count midnightish at the end of Christmas Day. I’m not sure if they’re calling it a “true” White Christmas - seemed like “winter mix” to me, but here people call sleet “snow”, of course. If they’re counting it it’s the first one since 1937.
