Who had a White Christmas?

Was sorta snowy, sorta melty all December.

Got home from work on Christmas Eve and it started snowing. Not a blizzard, just a nice light fluffy snow. Has been snowing on and off every since.

Who else didn’t have to dream of a White Christmas?

Our snow came very late last night/early this morning, so a White Boxing Day.

White, and cold. The temp today: -32. -40 with the wind chill. And I have to go out and shovel. Thanks, Christmas song.

The forecasters were predicting something of a relative snowpocalypse here over the weekend and into Monday. So far, we got a light dusting early this morning which has long since melted off and not a drop of precipitation since. Bit chilly though. Just got back from a walk and was struggling to stay comfortably warm now matter how briskly I moved.

I was reading my Google news feed to Mrs Piper. There was a headline from Vancouver: “Snow and with the wind chill, may feel like -20.

We both burst out laughing. I guess we’re not nice people. :grinning:

I live about 80 miles west of Portland Oregon, near the coast. I almost never snows here. I now have about 8 inches of very cold powder snow in my yard. 34 degrees F and still snowing.

Not my part of Minnesnowta. Temps were above freezing the two days prior to Christmas so the only snow were the piles from previous snow plow leavings. Temps dropped all day yesterday though and it should be beginning to snow in about 10 minutes or so this evening.

We had a white Christmas of sorts. Constant very dense fog, all day.

We live in the Umpqua Valley and experienced the same. Indeed, this is the first time in my memory that it’s basically snowed all day. Although interestingly, it doesn’t seem to be accumulating much. I’ve had 4 inches of snow on the top of my car all day.

Yeah,I’m in between you and @Dallas_Jones, west of Eugene. About the same. Eight inches and counting. I hastily rearranged my plans to spend Christmas day with friends, because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get back home from theirs. Dropped off goodies and immediately returned – glad I did.

This morning I awoke to even more snow and a power outage that lasted from 8:00 a.m. till around 4:30 p.m. I stayed warm and cozy with the wood burner and caught up on my reading. Glad the power’s back and hope it holds for the next few days. If it does, I’ll enjoy this White Christmas.

Ohio. It was in the 50s.

We had a white Christmas here. But we also had bitter cold. Thankfully, I didn’t have to go anywhere, so I stayed inside and warm.

In the 70s here in South Carolina.

No, that is not normal.

We rarely have a white Christmas here, the coldest months are usually January and February. Christmas Eve was typical for the season, 6° C, grey and rainy, but in the night the temperatures fell and it snowed a few centimetres, so that on Christmas Day, we had a little snow and the temps stayed under freezing. Today, it went up to 1° C and the snow already began to melt again.

It had snowed a few inches a few days before; on Christmas Eve we went for a crunchy little hike in the woods, but then the dread Wintry Mix moved in, and turned all to ice by Christmas Day. It’s still white, you just need cleats to traverse it. The county spread some gravel on our now glass-slick unpaved road but it was still a good day to stay home by the fire. Which we did.

Here in Dallas/Fort Worth we hit 82 degrees, a new record. The old record of 80 was set only back in 2016. It could have been worse; Wichita Falls hit 91 yesterday. The high temperature there on the Fourth of July (!) was only 88 degrees.

We are on pace to have the warmest December ever recorded, and by an absolute country mile. I went to a temperature data collection website yesterday and determined that so far we have had 14 days (including today) of high temperatures of 75 degrees or more. That is insane, even for the notoriously fickle Texas weather.

Cloudy and rainy here, which suits my mood. Also, my snowplowing guy made off with his seasonal payment and is happily relaxing at home, content that he’ll probably not have to work until spring when he starts up his landscaping business. The only reason I keep paying him is that I know that as soon as I don’t, Climate Change™ will create the most fantastically huge, unprecedented series of snowstorms in recorded history. As long as I keep paying him, winter will be warm and rainy, so I do. You may thank me for controlling the weather in at least the entirety of southwestern Ontario.

Mostly cloudy with sun breaks, 68F high on Xmas here in central Kentucky. Relaxed on the porch swing.

Last Xmas we had two inches of snow and low 30s.

I’m in California, so one wouldn’t expect a white Christmas here. It was chilly and rainy most of the day here.

But when it’s rainy here, that usually means it’s snowing up in the mountains. And indeed, I heard that I-80 over Donner Pass was closed due to heavy snow. So people over in Truckee, about 90 minutes to the east, had a white Christmas.

Yeah, white Christmas and all that. Snow that needs to be shovelled, hummingbird feeder that needs to be kept from freezing, burning a lot of wood, temps expected in the single-digits…

You can have it.
