Every day we go without snow in Chicago since December 20th breaks the all time record for latest measurable snowfall…
Our Boxing Day is getting whiter. Been snowing since about 4 pm.
Mrs P just went out to shovel. I prefer to do it in daylight, but she doesn’t like putting things off.
Snowy here in the Rogue Valley of south Oregon. Also the first time I recall snow all day.
Mid-Willamette Valley, Oregon. Lots of rain in the lead-up with snow beginning about 11 pm on Christmas. Fairly constant snow since then, maybe 7 inches so far. We had no snow to speak of last year, so we’re happy for the garden and spring germination.
ETA: We usually get a couple of days of all-day snow.
Been an odd year. Christmas was the first time I plowed the drive this year. I sometimes start plowing in October.
Anyway, yeah, we got about 15 inches.
We got our snow just before Midnight on December 26th. A messy commute to work this AM due to slipperiness.
We got about 4" of snow Dec 9/10, but then we had a 67 F day shortly after. No snow on the ground for Christmas, but I got about an inch last night.

72° and sunny, here in Atlanta. We did once have a technically white Christmas a few years ago, when a gray, lowering sky produced a minute or so of light flurries that melted as soon as they hit the ground; but that’s about the only “white” Christmas I can recall in over 30 years.
That said, 72° is not normal for North Georgia in late December.
Similar here in central NC. We had the windows open on Christmas Day.
In 2010 in north-western SC we had snow on Christmas that stuck around through New Years and it snowed again at the beginning of January. Is that the year you mean? Because that is the only one that I can recall in over 40 years.
Mmmm, I feel it was more recently than that - 2014 or 15, maybe. In any case, the snow certainly didn’t stick around; it barely made it to the ground without melting.
Now we’re supposed to get a ‘wintry mix’ tomorrow. We’ll see if that counts.
We continue to have a white Saturnalia. I shoveled. I did not have a heart attack.
Didn’t get snow that stayed on the ground until about a week before Christmas (central Newfoundland), but it’s continued to be a nice blanket since. Not quite as deep as it was last year at this time (I can actually see out my (basement) window), but still, it’s real snow cover.
Same here. More snow yesterday and again today.
We had a small amount of snow on the ground on Christmas, but today we had a storm and probably got 8 inches with lots of wind. Another system coming tomorrow!
We had one in my flashback to 17 years ago.
But none this year. It was sunny and in the 80s here in south Texas
.
I got a little Christmas Day and evening. It was nice. But the real shit came overnite Sunday.
Indeed. Been closed all day today. Too windy and snowey to even open the damn ski resorts! I got a little here at my place, but doubt I’ll get to the mountain for a while…
They are reporting in feet, not inches.
