Wait, Boscibo, what happened? Did they make it to the hospital or not?
Just to keep you all posted; Poysyn was given something to help with the pain…it was a lot of back pain and causing her a lot of discomfort. She was managing some rest between the contractions.
They have opted to add drugs to augment her since her contractions are not as productive as they should be and her water has broken.
I am guessing she and Brent will be parents somewhere around 2:30 am.
If I am able; HEY!! grandmas (coach #2) get tired too, I will post once I get back home with the details of this beautiful addition.
Trish
Wooo! Little baby Dopers!
Keep up the good work, and let us know!
Tripler
Woooo!
POYSYN IS NOW A MOMMY!!!
After everything that could possibly go wrong, going wrong, the doctor performed a CSection just after 3:30 am, and delivered a beautiful baby girl.
Poysyn is doing fine, although exhausted and shaken up by the duration and setbacks along the way.
She has asked me to say thank you to all of you for your good wishes.
Good morning and good night…I am going to go sleep now,
Trish
Woohoo! Happy Baby!! Hugs to all!
<tossing confetti with wild and reckless abandon>
congrats to the poysyn clan on the new addition!
rest up and take care everybody.
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!..
What are you naming her? I have to know to finish my song!
“Listen to the song of life.” – inscription over a fireplace
woohoo, congrats!
Muchas congrats, Poysyn and Brent!
Runadoc, 'zis make you a grammie for the very first time? Either way, enjoy.
[sub]Note to newbie Doper ladies: Don’t drink the water around here. It seems to be contagious.[/sub]
Congratulations!! Welcome to the world, Baby Girl!
Congratulations! Yay! Name, weight? How is Poysyn? What went wrong? WHAT WHAT??
YAY Poysyn! Yay Runadoc!
Yay BabyGirlWithNoName!
Keep us posted, Runadoc.
Yikes, that’s scary!
I’m glad everything is okay.
Little Poysyn…hmmm…Cyanida, maybe?
The support and encouragement seen since Poysyn went into labour has been absolutely wonderful. I am not surprised since dopers are like family members, but I have to admit feeling a whole lot of love for each and every one of you…thank you.
Poysyn had been having contrations for a few days, and with the pain focusing in her back had not had any decent rest/sleep for two nights. When the pain became more than she could handle on her own she relented and went to the hospital.
They waited for her to reach 10 cm and hoped that with the aid of forceps she would be able to push the baby through. After a few attempts however it became apparent that a CSection was the only option to get the baby out safely. Poysyn was at this point shaking with chills, running a fever and barely able to move with the discomfort. The baby had presented OP and that was what causing the concern/problems.
Thankfully all turned out perfectly in the end. My beautiful little granddaughter weighed in at just over 9 pounds, and is 22 3/4" long. She has lots of dark hair (like daddy Poysyn) big beautiful eyes, and is very cute (like mommy). Her name is Darby. Poysyn is very happy albeit exhausted. She will be home probably on Sunday.
Thanks again to all of you who kept her in your thoughts and prayers…hugs to each of you,
Grandma Trish
Aw! Yay! Doper babies!!
Congrats, Poysyn and Grandma Runa!
When do we get to see some pictures?
Thanks runadoc…and congrats to the whole family.
Welcome Baby Darby!!
I’m so glad that everything turned out okay in the end, and I love the name (the fact that it is very close to my own has nothing to do with that, of course). Rest up Poysyn, and check in to let us know how mommyhood is treating you once you feel up to it. I just have to say that babies with lots of hair are the absolute cutest things. And the hair stores up the “new baby smell” perfectly.
Enjoy!
Hooray for a new Doper baby! Sorry about the rough entry into the world, little one - I hope our warm wishes make up for it.
Thanks for the update, Gramma Trish. And congratulations to all y’all, especially Poysyn and Brent.
Welcome to the world, Darby!!!
OP (occipital posterior position, not the original post) sucks. Hard on mommy, hard on baby. Most unpleasant. Glad to have the medical knowledge we do, and glad all are well!
Welcome Darby! Welcome to motherhood Poysyn! Not sure if this is the first grandbaby, but either happy new grandbaby or welcome to grandmotherhood, Runa.
May I recommend a book that JUST came out? “The Wonder Weeks” - identifies the fussy stages of the first 14 months, so new parents don’t freak out over the changeling child that started clinging and crying all of a sudden (and helps you help them through those periods, too). Most valuable book, which up until two days ago I only had in bullet form (translated from the Dutch version, badly!), but still found invaluable.
Cool. Now I want another baby. (okay, I already wanted another one, but now I REALLY want another one…)
She’s huge! There’s a Manitoba girl for you! Keep her warm during the cold months in Winterpeg!
