It's ten past seven and I'm still at work and I'm THRILLED

So I just printed off my thesis huge sigh of relief and made five copies of it even more huge sigh of relief. I had to run it through about three photocopiers about four times each, tho, because each one is broken in its own special way and you don’t realize it’s broken until it’s already sucked all 93 pages through and then says

*… Please wait … *(for what? … nothing. I waited quite a while and nothing happened.)

or

*… Paper jam … *(I know you’re lying, I’ve just opened every fucking door and pulled every lever and turned every knob, twice, each, so I know for certain that there’s no paper jammed in you, please fuck off! … after you’ve printed my paper, of course)

or

*… Stapler not working … (I don’t care! I’ll staple it myself! Just make five copies so I don’t have to run this thing through you again!)

But at last, although I printed over an hour ago, I’m finally done !

Yippee ! Par-tay !

I’m going home now, then I’ll get intoxicated, then I’ll go up to school tomorrow (for the second-last time, ever) to hand it in, then I’ll go up north (yes, envy me) to enjoy some of this lovely weather. Or maybe it will be winter again this weekend. Doesn’t matter. Because I’m done !
::dances around, tossing photocopier-mauled pieces of paper everywhere::

Have a good weekend, everyone !

::dances off::

  • That was before I realized the heavy-duty stapler wasn’t working. So I guess they’re getting ‘unbound’ copies, just like they asked !

ADVICE:

Don’t look at it. Don’t even glance at it. The moment you do, you’ll notice a glaring idiotic error. Avoid the devil, and DO NOT LOOK

i didn’t … it’s still in it’s brown paper wrapping, I’m putting the final touches on it at school and then I will close my eyes, open the brown paper and hand it in.

We just got these fancy-pants new computers in the lab here, they’re very pretty but sooooooooo fucking slow ! luddites. Or maybe it’s just the SDMB. I may never post from anywhere but work again …

Good for you, Cowgirl!!!

PAAAR-TAAAAAYY!!!

Testimonials like yours give me hope that I, too, will one day be finished. It gladdens my little heart to hear that someone handed in her thesis and will soon be moving on to other things.
