It's that time!

Apparently my son is as impatient as I am, because he’s coming out in the next day or so, only two weeks or so early. So I’m off to San Antonio, not without a little drama, since Southwest has no more flights leaving for San Antonio tonight. I’m leaving tomorrow morning and getting there around 11 CDT, and then after MsRobyn kicks my ass for not being there sooner, the baby, my son, will be born.

I’m so excited. I haven’t been this wound up in a very long time. But enough about me. Since there is the small possibility that Robin might get to check her e-mail or look at the Dope while she’s waiting for Aaron to be born, could you all drop her a word, either here or at her e-mail? I’d appreciate it, and I know she’d appreciate it more.
Woohoo! Fatherhood beckons. Any advice is welcome.

Well, congratulations to you both. I don’t know anything about parenthood (let alone giving birth), so I’ll spare you the soliloquys about it.

Robin, you can do it! Just remember to breathe, and relax if possible.

BOOYAH!

I hope he takes after his mother. God knows there’s enough ugly people in this world

All my best wishes for a speedy and safe delivery!

Much love, Robyn and Airman! And welcome to the planet Earth, Aaron. We hope you enjoy your stay.

WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! Little Doors is coming!!

You can do it, Robyn! Simon’s there to help you!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
I thought we’d have more warning!

Wow, I’m so excited now, too!

Robin, good luck. I hope everything goes relaly well for you, Dave and Aaron.
oooooooooo!

Has she gone into labour now then? Wooo! Good luck Robin! Best wishes for both of you.

I hereby give Little Doors the tribal name of He Who Popped Out In Only Ten Minutes Of Labor.

Hope it’s accurate …

Congratulations in advance! Hope all goes well for MsRobyn and Aaron! Best wishes to all of you

Parental advice - don’t sweat the small stuff, and keep your sense of humor. And ALWAYS make sure you two take couple time away from the young 'un - you’ll all benefit from it.

This is very exciting!

Yay!!

Congrats, Robyn and Dave!
Welcome, little baby Aaron!

Give him a little kiss for me!!

Rose

Congrats, Robin and Dave!

Here’s hoping for a smooth delivery and a healthy baby Aaron Doors!

Congrats! And advice? Let him have and do ANYTHING he wants. Buy him a fast car for his 16th birthday. Cater to his every whim.

Congratulations Robyn and Dave!

Mazel Tov, Robin, mazel tov.

Here’s hoping everything goes fine.

Congratulations, Mazel Tov and welcome!

I went to the OB Triage unit this afternoon to be monitored, and the contractions are every 5-10 minutes or so apart, but they are doing something (I’m about 1 cm dilated, but not effaced). So, I have to keep an eye on things, because it can change FAST. So, it looks like this weekend or thereabouts!

I can’t wait!

Aaron’s LiveJournal username, for those interested, is babydoors.

WOOHOO! I’M IN TIME!

GO AJ! IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY[sub]soon[/sub]! COME OUT PAINLESS! SPIT UP ON YOUR DADDY!

[sub]Rhyming? Scansion? Feck no.[/sub]

Two and a half months until I get to meet you, dude:)

I wonder if he knows all the love for him I feel?
I find it hard believing that this miracle is real.
My darling wife has given me a handsome baby son.
I know that you can’t tell it yet, but I love you little one.

This tiny little being, how can he change me so?
What makes me feel so happy that I get to watch him grow?
What makes my heart swell up with pride to know that I’m his dad?
What makes the tears come to my eyes when holding this sweet lad?

I’m making you a promise to be the best dad I can be.
I’ll allways be there for you. You can always count on me.
But I’ll be right back now, buddy, 'cause I’m 'bout to pop with joy.
I’ve got to go and yell to the world…
It’s a boy! It’s a boy! It’s a boy!

(I wrote this just after my son was born. One of the OB nurses read it and then taped it to the window of the viewing room.)

Congratulations, DAD!

Way to go, MOM!

Hurry up and get here, AARON!

Babybabybaby! Hurry, Aaron! Be sure to show up at a reasonable hour so your mom can get some sleep and maybe a snack before you make your entrance. Trust me on this one; my mom has always been grateful to my brother for handling things that way.

Congratulations, you three! Be sure to keep us updated.

Happy birthday, Aaron, we hope!

But try to hold off on your arrival until Daddy gets there, OK, fella?
