It's the official last Presidential Debate thread!

That just shows that taxes are already to high???

-Joe

no. it needs this

When he goes on a national TV show for an interview he’s obviously not mortified by publicity. He’s relishing his 15 minutes of fame. He’s probably about to announce a six-figure book deal and a nationally syndicated radio program.

(bolding mine) Oops? Or subconscious?
Roddy

Yeah, that’s my feeling too. I mean, what kind of person lies about making $200,000 more than they do and having an intention and capacity to buy a business just to make a political attack.

I wouldn’t mind if he was just honestly ignorant about Obama’s plan, but he’s clearly running an agenda. Obama gave the guy a very courteous and detailed answer to his question, even though it was pretty clear he was overtly hostile to him, and then he goes and runs to conservative web sites, AM radio shockjocks and Fox to misrepresent the conversation and say his talking points. But when the mainstream press are involved he suddenly acts all coy about his voting intentions to try to keep the story going.

Going by his comments, he’s ostensibly a supporter of flat taxes, yet he doesn’t even have the intellectual honesty criticise the status quo taxation system and John McCain’s plan in equal measure for having a progressive structure, which by his own rhetoric somehow punishes the hardworking.

Let’s face it, he’s a shill who is playing up a sense of false entitlement over some imagined future position of wealth. He’s a walking real life caricature from What’s The Matter With Kansas.

Or maybe this.

Ow. I think I just sprained my nose laughing.

Let me see if I can help you out, Diana. I think the issue is not that we should mock Palin because she suddenly has new insight into the issues that parents of Down’s Syndrome babies face (and I wonder if she actually does, but that is a separate subject).

The issue to mock is her political opportunism, particularly when the “Sarah Palin is compassionate about special needs kids” message appears to be at odds with her actual record as governor. There is something exceedingly distasteful about using her baby’s condition to such blatant political ends.

If you are so inclined, feel free to say that the above is what you really meant, and you weren’t really defending Palin.

This just gets better and better every day. Everything McCain does blows up in his face.

That’s a great ad, especially the end line.

Excellent job, sir.

*This multi-quote thing is awesome!

Any evidence of a close relationship other than speculative blog postings?

Nope, just the contrary: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/10/16/133831/42/1001/632600

I have always wondered about McCain.<snicker>:D:D

The McCain campaign thinks they are cunning and champions of slandering people by taking words and associations out of context. One thing they should know is that John McCain has lived longer than Barack Obama, and as a result has more history, associations and words that one can take out of context or put in context and still make a case of an immoral and unethical person, not that one has to struggle hard where John Sydney M,cCain is concerned.

Read the comments, it’s a work in progress.

Tee-hee, it’s even better w/ my girlfriend’s text.
I dunno, the Keating thing might be a reach.

How did McCain even know about Obama’s conversation w/JtP? Why was that even covered?

It’s enough for me that Joe is not a plumber and has a tax lien (he’s true to himself there: me no pay taxes!). The whole Keating thing is too sublime for this world… It had a beautiful symmetry, though–like book ends to a political career.

Word on the street (ok, the 6 other nurses I work for–3 Filipinos, 1 black, 1 white and me)–McCain dug his own grave re the “health” of the mother. Not all of us are pro-choice, either.

Very true. My brother had to get hepatitis vaccines because of exposure to feces. I’ve helped him on various jobs including cutting apart hundred year old cast iron pipes filled with fossilized turds. It is a tough job.

Hey, y’all are talking to a nurse. I know from poop, believe me, and my wage is not near (enough) to a plumber’s. I wanna make what Joe/Sam/Plumber/Non-Plumber makes!

I spoke with a woman at work who cleans up the kids bath rooms; her wages for such exposure are even less appropriate.

God, yes. :frowning: (then again, I clean my family bathrooms for free, so…).

Well, yes, but malicious little bastards that flush wads of paper towels down the toilet after they defecate on the floor…
