Here are the rules, you finish the lyrics correctly, and then, in the same thread, you post part of another TV Theme song. You must state at least four words in the lyric to your TV show and the guess has to finish the sentence in which the given words are part of.
(Ohhhhhh show me that smile)
Don’t waste another minute of your cryin’
Which was part of the theme to Growing Pains.
This one’s obscure so I’ll give you 2 lines:
Heh…a co-worker mentioned it when Lost was starting to break out, as a “they’ve done that already” type show, so I did the research a couple of months ago on that. I figured this was an excellent time to be pulling out the obscure knowledge card.
Turn on the light from heaven, Lord, shine on me, shine on me
Turn on the light, set me on the right road
Help me find my way, Lord
Turn on the light from heaven, Lord
Shine on me
Shine on me
That’s Amen, with Sherman Helmsley.
I’m frightened that I knew all that.
Let’s try this one:
Together, we’re gonna find our way
(You and I) together, taking the time each day…
Is the line “preaching from my chair” ever heard in the show’s intro? Assuming it isn’t, can we use lyrics from the theme song if they aren’t in the opening? If it’s a made-for-the-show theme song, I would guess no, but if it’s an actual song that was coopted to be a theme song, I’d say yes. But I’m not the OP, so it’s not my call.
Also, I just thought of one, but I don’t know the one on the table, so I’ll refrain.
I can’t answer any of the hanging ones but here is my offer…
“Don’t let yourself get hurt this time.
Don’t let yourself get hurt this time.
Then I saw your face…”
This played in the pilot & the beginning of some eps, but not in them all.
Since Jayjay’s was skipped, I’ll just add that it’s The New People - which I knew, thanks to his mention of Lost, but had to Google to remember the title. (Thus my not posting earlier.)
