Good morning. Caffeination is nearly complete and since today is supposed to be fairly decent, I will do some yard work.
Such exciting plans; I know you’re all jealous.
The pot of coffee doesn’t go as far with 4 people in the house as it does as 2. Roughly half as far in fact.
Hah! I solved that problem by being the first one up, even with two people in the house. That way I get more coffee!
I will be mowing grass in short order. Planted horseradish yesterday…
Yahd irk is done and da bear is all showered and clean. Next up the defilthyfyin’ of da cave which isn’t too bad. A good dustin’ and vacuumin’ will suffice. Then, I must begin the preparation of vittles for tomorrow’s Easter feast. There will be eight of us. Fortunately I don’t have to make everything.
Onward I go!
It’s a beautiful, sunny day here in Northeastern Ohio. Just the perfect kind of day for sitting inside and researching the Ohio K-12 Science Standards.
Oh well, I’ve been making steady progress with this homework and I only have 4 more projects and then I’ll be done for the semester…
My contribution for Easter dinner is a lovely (I hope it’s lovely and not slightly overdone) Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup cheesecake. Otherwise, I’m off the hook. Mother’s Day will be my next big family production.
Moooom’s away
When i was of a certain age & Mom went away, that meant one thing…
who’s procuring the keg?
Been and had my hair cut and coloured this morning. mr ems worked this morning and now he is napping and watching the golf on TV.
I am going to Skype with the parental units then take a nap myself.
Yahd is mowed. Tomorrow morning, while everyone else goes to sunrise deheathenization, I will be spreading Turf Builder.
Tonight is my favorite bad movie of all time: Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments. The horrible overacting, especially by Jon Derek, the awful costuming, and the cheezy special effects make this flick a once a year must see.
Break time. Da cave is spiffed. Rah. Candied (sorta) sweet N.O.T. are in the oven. Green beans have been snapped and are steamin’ away. N.O.T. for N.O.T. sallit are coolin’. Yes, two kinds of N.O.T. They both got requested with a sad puppy dog eye look. Squish casserole is ready to be baked. I need to peal, chop and cook rutabagas, which is still strange to me case until about a year ago I would not touch 'em. They were the second nastiest veggie on Earth, behind [del]fart blossoms[/del] brussels sprouts. Ham needs to be prepped too. OH, and gotta make deviled aigs.
Tonight a around 8:15 begins the Vigil of Easter with three, count 'em, three, baptisms. I may or may not make it there. We shall see.
I killded the MMP again!
Obviously we are not goin’ to the Vigil of Easter. I’m too tahrd and OYKW really does not want to sit through a service that includes three, count 'em, three baptisms. Can’t realy blame him. I’m about to drop over so he said he’d keep an eye on the ham which should be done around nineish should I fall asleep.
no, not killed, merely stunned.
I have discovered proof that I’m the Cute One, lest there be any conjecture.
My head is about to explode. I’ve been working on this project the whole time since I last posted. I really wanted to finish it tonight but I just don’t know. The screen has started to look too bright and I’m taking that as a sign of impending doom of some sort or another. (Or maybe just a sign that I should give up for now.)
Take a break. Attack it with a fresh cup of coffee in the morning before you go off to dinner
I got my whole front yard weeded and the garden edged again. My wrist is just killing me, but I feel good about what I got accomplished. It was pretty rough going because the soil was basically mud, so breaking up the weed clumps and knocking the dirt out took a bit of doing. But, it’s done for the time being. Now I can concentrate on the backyard. Unfortunately, bad weather is set to move in, so I won’t be getting to that this week.
So, I’m still alive. The last few days have been spent inhaling two Connie Willis novels I’ve never gotten to before - Blackout and All Clear. As usual, I completely fell in love with her characters and the themes she explores and the time travel and the period of time she chose (the Blitz). As usual, I wasn’t ready for the book to end. And now I’m glad/sad/mad that the books are over, and I never get to read them for the first time again. sigh
Glad you’ve been able to do something fun, Kanga.
Have been for a walk, made spiced pickled beets and lima bean puree (two separate items), and am watching a mindless movie.
Walk was really cool because it was right around sunset. All kinds of interesting lighting and clouds and stars coming out during the walk.
Felt kind of ick earlier, but took a nap and everything seems OK now.
Off to sleepie bye soon.
Hugs, all.
