Yesterday, 5 weeks after surgery, just when I was thinkin’ I’m pretty much better, my back suddenly seized right up again. It’s not really hurting, just achin’ a bit, and sneezing makes it go ow, but I’m back to hunching, and hobbling with a stick. I thought this was done. plays violin
Was good for sympathy at the jobcentre mind, and I can probably spend the next week or so in bed without missing much but a friend’s birthday tomorrow. Might be able to hobble down the pub anyway if I’m not feeling any worse; it’s very close, and I’ve not seen her in a bit ‘cos she moved away. We shall see. At least this removes the last of the temptation to go camping at a jugglin’ convention next weekend, which I was considering even though I knew it was a bad idea. Not that it’ll entirely stop me sulking about missing it.
Oh, and I think Lent finishes midnight Saturday, at least, that’s when I plan to start the out-piggin’ on choccy aigs.
I was convinced today was Friday and was heartbroken when I found out it wasn’t.
Slow morning at work. Made some phone calls answered some e-mails. I have to work on some slides for a business review I am conducting next week. Which I will get done this afternoon. No idea what is for supper tonight. We had shrimp taco’s last night which were super but tonight…no clue.
Lunch will be Subway I guess. I am heartily sick of Subway but it is close to work and I didn’t pack anything for lunch today.
Easter weekend will be spent with mr ems working at least part of it. I am going to go get a haircut and pedicure. Sunday we will be smoking a turkey breast in the smoker along with a pork butt. Probably. This is all subject to change.
I slept way too late today and I didn’t even take a sleeping pill last night. Now it’s almost 2:30 and I haven’t even started cleaning the house yet. I was hoping to be done by now.
Dangit.
Sweetie is spending tomorrow night in RI and I have no clue what to do with myself while he’s gone. Too bad it’s not May 15 already because I could have Diablo III to keep me occupied and I’d never even notice that he’s gone.
I read through the whole thread fast and now I’m stuck with a mental image of FCM naked and eating a PopTart. What a way to go into Good Friday.
Not entirely. Sundays, already being a holy day unto itself, don’t count as part of Lent and therefor the usual Lenten fasts don’t apply. Think of how its worded as the "X (First, Second, etc) Sunday in Lent and not like the (First, Second, Fourth) Wednesday of Lent.
Or so they taught us at HolySchool.
Now put down that pastry and put some clothes on. Sheeeehs!
Bobbio! For shame! Why are you eating the Easter Bunny?!
I’m 99% sure that Easter Sunday dinner will be ham, potato salad, some sort of jello thing, vegetables, and rolls. This is typically what the MiL makes for that day. As I’m not cooking, I can’t complain.
Good grief, I wish this day would END already! I wanna go home!
I have my clothes on, too. I watered all my houseplants and I’ve got a dishwasher load running, I cut the grass in the back yard, put away the clothesline, and killed some damned paulownia invaders. Apparently they didn’t grind enough of the stump when we had the tree taken out. On the plus side, we’ve got a bazillion strawberry shoots blooming in the yard. I’m wondering if the birds will beat us to the berries.
Still have to pack, leave a note for the critter sitter, and write him a check. Almost ready to go…
Howdy Y’all! Home from irk. YAY!!! Yeah it’s a little early but I don’t care. I’s tahrd.
Chikin Divine, peas 'n carrots and rolls for dindin tonight. NUM!!! Plus, there will be leftovers for tomorrow.
I am irkin’ from home tomorrow just cause I can. I like that. A lot. A whole lot.
Ruble nailed it re Lent. Sundays are Holy Days (Feast Days) so they don’t count as days of Lent. Lest y’all think that means there are only really 34 days of Lent, Sundays are figured in so there are 40 days of Lent. Lent ends midnight Sattidy, or, if you Attend The Vigil of Easter on Sattidy night, it’s Easter as soon as the Vigil ends because the Vigil ends with a celebration of Easter.
But if VB is off duty, he has no (legal) obligation to respond, at least in my state. Now if she comes to visit him while he’s working at the station, that’s a different story.
