Thanks to all vets, and don’t worry about not being able to bank or use government services- those people are all off honoring you. I’m sure that makes you feel better. Maybe someday you can get a day off while they work.
I’m pretty sure there are vets that work in banks and government services.
I have no problem with them getting the day off. They deserve it.
For Veterans Day, I had an urgent need to go to the dentist, found one with same day availability, went to my car, turned the key, and found the battery dead. On the plus side, the weather today was pretty good for a bike ride (which is likely no small part of the reason my car battery is dead: I haven’t turned the key in two weeks, or maybe even a whole month).
Root canal on Monday.
My Dad’s birthday (long since dead). He was a fighter pilot in the Air Force. I’ll have to drink two beers for him tonight. The Horror!
So glad it’s over.
“Thank you for your service and sacrifice.” While also not unanimously decrying January 6 as a treasonous attempt to murder the people elected to run the country which people are so grateful I served.
And including blue line flags in the displays of real military branch flags, as if police can expect to endure anything like a deployment or perpetual readiness with abridged rights in their day-to-day lives, makes me gag.
