I work for the State of Michigan and have the day off. In honor of the brave sacrifices made by our fighting men and women, I’m going to the outlet mall to buy pants.
I have my own business and as my customers want our services today we pretty much need to work. The complicating factor is that my kids are out from school and we don’t currently have daycare so they’re watching The Tigger Movie in my training/break room right now. And making a fort out of one of the tables.
I work in the hospitality industry and unfortunately, I am working today. I shouldn’t complain though, it’s quiet around here and there was no traffic on the roads this morning. Thanks to all the government employees in the DC area having the day off, my normal 45 minute commute was reduced to a mere 15 minutes!
No, I don’t have to come in today. But I am working (right here, on my couch) because I’m doing an outline of a report I have to do by the end of the month.
This is the first free weekday I’ve had since I’ve moved into my apartment, so it feels kinda weird being here.
We’re a small business and we have work today.
My husband and I just realized it this morning it was a holiday after wondering where all the traffic was and checking a calendar. The main part of my job is to go to the bank and post office, so I shouldn’t even have to be here today.
The worst part is we have to be open so people can come make payments, but most of the time our customers just assume we’re closed due to the holiday.
Retail, yes I am working today. I just started at a new job where nobody I’ve asked (although I haven’t asked anyone of great knowledge) is sure if we get Thanksgiving off or not. I’ll find that out tomorrow.
Working today, but it’s a ‘light’ day, because the Financial Markets are closed and loans cannot be funded. I’ll be mostly cleaning my desk and filing stuff. Also, there’s a thread about procrastination here somewhere that I keep meaning to post to. Maybe later…
The university’s closed, but I’m spending a big chunk of today and tonight in the lab. And I’ll probably do some grading, too. But right now I’m at my place, reading the Dope, checking my e-mail, and doing laundry. As much as I’m not too thrilled with being in grad school, there are times when the flexible scheduling is really great.
Yep, working today. I’m temping, so I basically follow whatever the company I’m currently working for does.
This one does not have Veterans Day off, so neither do I. That’s ok, though, I need the money - if I had a choice to get it off, I still would have worked. And I like it here, so it’s not bad.
