At the risk of sounding callous …
If every time a Trump is subpoenaed to testify, they off a less important member of their family to a) keep them quiet, and b) give the survivors a scheduling excuse to attend funerals and such, well …
They’ll run out of family members long before we run out of subpoena dates.

You might not know it from looking at my wife (unless she happens to have her cane with her) but she’s tripped over nothing at all (once ending up with a concussion) and is officially classed as a “fall risk.” You’ll find her at the supermarket pushing a shopping cart with both hands just to pick up a loaf of bread.
Ivana’s house almost certainly had an elevator. I’ve been it lots of New York City townhouses of the same vintage, and they ALL have elevators. Always. Every single one.
And I’m a little surprised that she used the stairs on a regular basis. Those large curving staircases are formidable, especially for older people. I saw news reports that referred to it as a “spiral staircase”, which is technically true but misleading. It would be a central architectural feature of the house, and sometimes it’s designed to be open all the way up. I’m probably not describing it well, but it is probably something like this.
NYC mansions of that vintage (here’s Ivana’s modest NYC home)
is that the lower floors have really high ceilings, sometimes as high as 16’. The ceilings are lower on the higher bedroom floors, but the high ceilings are a feature of the common areas. The high ceilings make the staircases connecting the lower floors a long slog, though. I used to work in construction/ renovation of houses like hers, and a few trips up and down those stairs would exhaust me. Most everyone opted for the elevator, every time.
I’m surprised she was using the stairs at all, especially on the lower floors.
I’m thinking that it’s possible that she tripped and fell while walking on the upper floor and then, in the midst of the fall, ended up tumbling down the stairs.
Of course, as I imagine this, and then look at the picture that you’ve provided of such a large staircase, I’m picturing a sort of comedic tumbling pratfall akin to the Naked Gun movies.
I’m sorry Ivana. I know it’s not funny. But in my mind it kinda is.
I think it’s likely she was pushed. Or whacked over the head. This is all too convenient. I’m no CTer, but “heart attack and fell down the stairs?” Puhleaze.
People who know the place say that apparently there was an elevator but she didn’t like to use it. Also the carpet on the stairs was worn and a tripping hazard.
I’d imagine it’s challenging to make an Absolutely Fabulous, Hey Look At ME entrance using the elevator.

Random aside, but Barron Trump (seen here at Ivana’s funeral) is going to end up pushing 7 feet! I’ll remind you that he is 16, and his father is over 6 feet tall (probably 6’2” ish)
While Baron is quite a tall young man, it appears he is standing on the next step up.
