I've been offered a promotion!

I was practically the last one interviewed on Thursday and HR called just a few minutes ago with the good news. They need to discuss with my current supervisors but I’m expected to be at my new position on 22 May; if I got the math right, I’ll see a small increase in pay on 10 June.

The official title is Case Resolution Specialist, which means I’ll be returning to a primarily customer service position.

Yaay! And soon too. Doesn’t get better than that.

Heck yeah! Congratulations!

:+1:

Forgot to mention, this will take a bit of getting used to. It’s been a long time since I was on a strict 8:30 - 5:00 schedule* and I hope there won’t be any requirement to report to HQ other than for special events. I’m not sure how to get there since the satellite building closed; the free shuttle between HQ and the satellite was part of my commute.

*Union rules. We get a half-hour lunch at no pay but two paid 15 minute breaks; virtually everyone lumps all that together to take an hour lunch.

Coincidently, 22 May also happens to be the first business day after completing 30 years of service as a federal employee.

Ooh, I bet that’s a nice retirement package for your future. Congrats all around!
