Gee, Mr. C, I meant no offense to my “box” posts, in fact it was meant as something of a backhanded tribute to you – and your famous box.
First of all, you seemed like a pretty cool guy who could take a running joke in the spirit in which it was intended. Secondly, I thought that whole “What’s in Mr. Cynical’s box?” thread was genius. (Which you handled it with grace and humor, I should add.) My only intention was to help make the concept of “Mr. Cynical’s Box” the legend it deserves to be. At least for a couple of weeks.
Now, granted, to imply that you LIVE in the box is no great flattery, but the whole mention of the box – I hoped – would make it obvious that my posts were meant to be more farcical than insulting; I mean, really, “Get back in your box” has got to be a pretty lame-o slam in anyone’s book.
And I only did it when I happened to stumble onto your post at the end of a thread – you can see I did not track down every one of your posts to slam them. As further proof of my benevolent intentions, I should add that I usually AGREE with your posts! If I really wanted to take exception with you I would have done so with a “reasoned” argument.
Now I must admit it was not fair of me to have blindsided you like I did, and I don’t know about any of the “recent happenings” you mention… so I’ll have to plead nolo contendere on that count, and throw myself at the mercy of the court. (I did consider emailing you at first, but, like I said, I figured you’d just roll with the gag.)
Bottom line: I’m no stalker. Sorry I ruffled anybody’s feathers. I won’t do it anymore. I STILL crack up at the concept of “Mr. Cynical’s Box.”

Having seen stuyguy’s posts here and there, I’m going to have to side with him on this one. His version of the story makes sense, and he’s provided details about himself that seem to indicate that he’s not a sock puppet, and not an Oat Willie creation either. In short, nothing about this incident strikes me as being anything other than the way stuyguy has presented it.
Bottom line, we’ll see if he behaves in a manner consistent with his explanation. We’re experienced at troll-hunting around these parts, and now that people have been informed of a place to shine the spotlight, we should be able to determine quickly whether this guy is, in fact, a troll.
Where DO these zombie-felchers come from? Is it you get so many posts and the admins fedex one to you? Geez, I have had 2 flames started on me here in the Pit, one was from Otto, which I sorta deserved (I had been whupping him badly in GD, and I was a bit of an asshole), but a good flaming from a respected poster is not so bad, you might learn something, or at least the asshole has enuf EP’s to actually back his crap up, even if totally wrong.
But then there is the recent “1 birthday-candlepower” flame started by some no name sockidiottroll. Fer Putzes sake, why ME?!? Sure, I have done my share of moderator baiting, but I have also helped out a few times, figure we’re even. And before these newbies-with-wet-diapers start their pitiful excuses for a flame, would it be too much to ask if they would actually get their peabraincells in a line and get the facts right. :rolleyes:
Oh, and GOOD idea, Coldfire, encourage these pests. Look, we all know you LOVE to flame, and you’re pretty good at it; but fer Putzes sake :wally pleese don’t encourage these wetbrainfarts. Look, CF, God knows I probably deserve a good flaming, and if you want to start a thread and fire up the Coldfire flame-engine, go right ahead, and I’ll flame ya right back. For whomever is interested, I’ll include the link since Daniel didn’t bother to do so himself. I think he’s referring to my post in this thread, where I merely seconded UncleBeers opinion that you went off like a madman, calling someone a troll who was just venting about a spelling pet peeve.
Who am I encouraging there? And what makes you think I encourage ALL trolls? When the bimonthly influx of threadbumping Oat Willy clones begins again, I generally leave these threads alone. The trolls I DO flame are the ones that are still here, hanging by a thread, but soon to be banned because of their general assholeness. Think Serlin, think Krispy. There IS a difference, Daniel.
And I’m not hiding in someone elses thread to flame you, Daniel. I merely stated that you acted like a jackass in the thread where you DID. What could be more appropriate? Why start a new thread for that? I wasn’t the only one telling you that this guy wasn’t a troll. Besides, what the hell are you doing here? Isn’t that attacking me in a completely inappropriate thread? This one’s about Stuyguy and Cynical! You could at least practice what you preach, and start your own little anti-Coldfire thread or something.

Because the touch is still very much there. Now, quit your whining or start a separate thread.
So Daniel, no one is allowed to disagree with you about who is, in fact, a troll? Coldfire can’t agree with UncleBeer about your behavior in the thread in which it occurred? “Daniel’s a few cylinders short of a two-stroke at times” is a flame? In order to comment on you negatively he should start a whole new thread, while for you to disagree with him, you just hijack an unrelated thread he never posted in?
