I’m in with Tennesee over Minnesota…
I’ve got Tennesee over Tampa Bay.
I have Titans over Saints. I figure, on the NFC side, something weird is gonna happen, since *all the teams there have obvious problems. So I thought I’d go with the Saints’ containing a coupla high-flying offenses, then being just good enough to get by the Iggles, before dying in the Hyperbole.
One of the recurring themes of Hyperbole history is that of the weaker conference having one of its weaker playoff teams getting just lucky enough to get to the Show, then getting creamed. (E.g. Patsies, Chargers, pre-90s Broncos.) Could be the Saints, this time.
On the AFC side, Titans over Ravens in AFC championship, which, IMO, will be the true NFL championship.
Whoo-hoo! I’m tied for fourth! Of course, so are most people. Falc on, I’m impressed.
bows Thanks! I’m amazed, myself…hopefully, I can do the same next week!
I stand in awe of Falcon’s first-round mastery.
I should have known that Indy is positively Lion-like in the playoffs, despite all their talent. And I honestly thought I’d taken the Saints over the Rams. Should have checked my pics better.
I thought the Rams would lose for the same reason Tampa Bay did - they were both talking shit in the week leading up to the game about how they were the class of the NFC.
Uh, those other teams aren’t too bad either, guys. But thanks for the bulletin-board material, Keyshawn and Marshall.
Fortunately, all my picks for the later rounds are still alive.
Well, I lost my AFC Champion (Indy) in the first round, but my Super Bowl champs are alive and well.
Go Eagles!!!
3 of 4 here, tied for second with Saint Zero.
My sole loss was the Colts; the real problem is that game changed the draw on me, so that I have a guaranteed 1-of-2 on the AFC side next week, since I picked the Ravens and Titans to win in what would have been opposite sides of the draw.
When VanderJagt was getting ready to kick that 49-yarder which woulda won the game, I needed that ‘pause’ feature they’ve been running the commercials for!
So my hopes rest on the much flukier NFC side of the draw, where I need the Eagles and Saints to both win on the road. (Yeeps! All 4 home teams won, last week.) And it would help me if the Dolphins win on the road, too, to take my competitors down a peg.
Go Titans! Go Saints! Go Eagles! Go 'Phins!
OK, first off, I didn’t know that my picks for the entire playoff run were set once the playoffs started.
Second I’m glad I didn’t have money on any of the playoffs or bowl games this year because nearly every team I picked lost.
Well, at least my Fantasy season went well.
On behalf of Philadelphia Eagles fans everywhere, we’re glad you’ve finally seen the light, and welcome to the bandwagon.
Go Eagles!!!
Don’t worry, Michael - my Iggles fanship has nothing to do with team allegiance or loyalty, but rather is motivated by pure, unadulterated self-interest. And will be over and done with in four and a half days.
Ahh, you mean when the Ravens, Saints, and Raiders win, right?
Well, it’s all down hill from here. I got two picks this week, but the teams I picked from this point on are already out of it.
Congratulations, Milo ssarian and Joey Hemlock, on catching up to Fal con.
To Montfort and RTFirefly, from this Redskins fan:
(even though having the Giants win is not much better).
WooHoo! Go Giants! and go Ravens!!!
Tied for 4th…and looking to move ahead next week!!!
I didn’t see tis in time to join the fun, but rest assured that the playoffs have deflated my ego. I am shooting less than .500 through 2 rounds. So far, only my belief in Baltimore has kept me from grabbing an “Aint’s” bag.
Some part of me would love to see Dilfer become a Superbowl Champion with an 8 for 23, 160 yard performance.
While I’m happy to have gotten three of four right in the divisional round, unfortunately my wrong pick was my Super Bowl champion pick, the Titans.
What the hell happened to Al Del Greco? He has become to field goals what Shaq is to free throws.
I think Falcon is in the same boat. Expect us to both do a ‘buh-bye’ from the top.
So much for needing a quarterback to win it all. With the exception of Culpepper, none of those remaining are all that special statistically. And Dilfer downright sucks.
Damn. I wish I would have seen this thread before right now.
Well, I’ve finished up with 25 points; my picks for the remaining rounds involved the Titans and Saints, who are no longer in the hunt.
To quote the eternal Brooklyn Dodgers fans: wait 'til next year!
I am in 9th, just like I predicted. I can still get a few more points if the Giants win next week, but that is it.
Haha! Am I good or what?! Giants and Ravens! I am the MAN! You may all bow down to me now!!! It’ll be swift for the Ex-Browns. Their suffering will last only a short 60 minutes on the field…but eternally off the field!
maniacal laughter
MUWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
