I’m a long time member but infrequent poster here on the Dope, and I wanted to let folks know that I’ve just had my interactive novel published. It’s a funny (I hope!) choose-your-own-adventure style science fiction story, published by Choice of Games. It’s all text, though there are some stats that feed back into the results of your choices.
Choice of the Star Captain is available for iOS, Android and (via the Chrome Store) your PC. A Kindle version should be out on Amazon later today. It’s only $2.99, and if enough people buy it in the first few days, it ends up on various “featured apps” lists, which drives yet more sales, eventually resulting in Parthol’s Star Captain Empire!
You can try it before you buy at www.choiceofgames.com, and if you end up buying and liking it, I’d welcome a rating and/or a review! If you don’t like it, you can still leave a… wait a minute, shouldn’t you be folding your laundry?
It was at the age of ten that, when grown-ups asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I stopped saying “a baseball player” and started answering “a writer.” It only took me 33 years!
Assuming I’m understand your question correctly, the difference is that the version you buy is about five times longer than the free trial on the website. You will have to play through the beginning parts again, though, once you buy it. (That is, the free trial is just the first 25-30 minutes of the whole thing.)
