Ivy, my bad bad bad aide. She's incorruptible. I've tried

She posted in one of the other threads a couple of days ago; I’ve now forgotten which. But I’ve also forgotten just how long ago it was; except that it was significantly after her last post here.

@Beckdawrek, @Gatopescado, update please?

She had a brief visit to the hospital but is back in the rehab center again. Ate lasagna for dinner, I hear. Kids visited, except the son, who took solace in the bottle after The Hogs lost to LSU. She arraigned for the cats in the courtyard to get an electric blanket put over their house.

That’s about all I got.

Oh, Husband is at Deer Camp. Some new season started today. Modern guns, I think. The two older grandsons are there also. So, I’m sure they will drag plenty of offal back to her house on the bottoms of their tiny, dirty feet.

Thanks, Gato!

Hey, happy to be a Bureau of Trivial Information.

Thanks, Gato, for that detailed. I love the electric blanket over the, uh, cat house.

Wait. Doesn’t it rain there in winter?

If they wind up Electro-cat-ed, it’s on her!

There are probably electric pads made for this sort of purpose, and waterproof. They’d probably also have protected cords, in case one of the cats likes to chew on things. Using a standard electric blanket made for a human bed might indeed be a bad idea.

Its not trivial, shes important!

To all of us, SL, including Gato. She’s doing the best she can at the moment and so are we.

Last report was knickers “Navy blue dots”, however this intelligence is nearly 24 hours old and deemed Unreliable and therefore Unactionable. Stand Down Troops!

She says doing well. Not sure why she’s not posting…

Ivy was snoring in a chair in the corner.

Good to know. Thank you very much.

Question - is Ivy a person or a cat? If she’s a person, does she have to watch Beck 24-7? I guess I’m wondering why she’s sleeping in Beck’s room.

Shes a person who is cat averse.

Ivy is her aide, who is there to help her whenever she stands or walks, whether that’s to go pee, or go visit the cats. Ivy’s main job is to help prevent falls and/or report a fall immediately. She fetches things for Beck so Beck doesn’t try to fetch them herself, alerts the nursing staff to needs, and she provides companionship. Aides are wonderful people who are often not treated or paid well.

Sad irony of this modern life, isn’t it? Possibly the most important and impactful member of the care staff is probably the least-regarded and worst-paid.

Ivy gets a, oh I don’t know what to call it, I guess, Bonus? (I don’t want to harsh her tax gig) from Mr. “I’d rather hunt than take care of my wife”.

And yeah, she sleeps there in the room.

The Good News: She gets to go home next week

Yay Beck!

Beck or Ivy? I know Beck is a handful, but I hope that Ivy gets to sleep in her own bed once in a while!
