Yes, it’s the final season. I was not a fan of last season, actually. I thought the first three seasons were better, but I kind of hated Logan(from Veronica Mars) on this show.
Uh, he died on the show, right? I have little memory of how the season played out.
Last season had some potential to do some hard-hitting political satire what with, you know, there being a wall around Seattle and refugees crossing it in both directions. They did the satire a bit without ever reaching “hard-hitting”. Then the show degenerated into…something, I don’t know what.
So, do we think they find a way to cure all of the zombies by the end of the season? I mean, that is the kind of bomb you can go ahead and drop once you’ve decided that the show’s coming to an end. I think that Liv deserves to rejoin the land of the fully living, but I can also see her deciding to stay a zombie because she really feels useful using her visions to help solve crimes. Either way, I can’t wait to see what new brain recipes she comes up with!
As the situation in Seattle gets more dire, the circumstances our protagonists find themselves in get more ridiculous. That three-way dance montage was one of the greatest things on television I’ve ever seen. Who knew that Clive would be such a good dancer?
Here we are, just a handful of episodes from the end of the line. It’s been a pretty good season, although the grimness of life in the walled city of Seattle is starting to wear on me. If this weren’t the last season, I would want it to be the last season before that was resolved. I’m glad to see that they decided to remember Liv’s family. Not that I found them especially absorbing so much as I dislike characters disappearing without any explanation in general. And I absolutely cringe every time they do anything with that zombie comedy show-within-a-show, so I definitely hope that’s been put to bed for good.
