Asking any JAG fans out there some clarification about an episode. I have watched the show off and on for a couple of seasons now. I was flipping though channels the other day and came accross it again only to find out what appeared to be Bud’s death on a hospital table? Can anyone clarify/explain what happened?
thanks
Last season, Bud was in Afghanistan helping to rebuild a school accidentally destroyed by an airstrike when he saw a child wandering in a minefield and tried to go help him. The kid knew where the mines were and got out okay but Bud stepped on a mine and had a leg blown off. He almost died on the operating table, but recovered and is back with a prosthetic leg.
ok thats what i thought…but in this clip i saw he flatlines and they pronounced him (dead) and then packed it in.
is that the same episode??? ( i switched channels…the game was on )
It was a “near death experience”. He dies and goes to his young son, who (IIRC) sees him and gives him a reason to live. The doctors revive him.
ok cool, so how long was he ‘dead’ for…seemed like the Docs closed up shop
The episode was a little vague on how long he was “dead.” IIRC (I’m doing this from my memory of the rerun about two weeks ago) they showed him flatlining in the OR, with attempts at reviving him failing, then cut for commercial. When the show came back, there was a scene where his son suddenly starts staring at the wall and says “Daddy” which cuts to a shot of Bud lying on the table as the camera zooms to a close-up of his pupil, with the image of his son in it. Then we hear the son saying “Daddy” again, then the scene shifts back to the house and his son turns to Harriet (Bud’s wife) and says, “Daddy’s coming home.” The next scene is Harm and Mac in the waiting room; the doctor walks in and is about to give them the bad news when someone (nurse?) runs in with the news that Bud just “came back” all by himself. They complete the interrupted operation and Bud is left alive but missing his leg.
I thought it was very nicely done; if they re-run it again I recommend trying to catch it. Future episodes in the season include the story of Bud adjusting to the loss of leg, learning to use his prosthesis, and fighting to keep his active duty status.
I kinda missed all the episodes. The last thing I saw was Sarah getting together with that Australian guy. How did that resolve? Is she still engaged to him or did they split up?
haha, cool, thanks a lot **Lurkmeister **
much appreciated
They split up.
Here’s an episode guide.
Thanks a bunch
With ever changing airing times around here, I somehow lost track of the show.
