Jack Chick... now in 666 Technicolor!

Yes. I had a runin with one of them in a comics IRC channel a couple days ago.

He came in, asked about Chick’s tracts, I commented about how ignorant they were, and…well, he certainly disagreed with me on that point.

Then he was ignored until he left.

The first tract isn’t a Chick tract. The second one is. Only through CHICK tracks can you spread the word of God and get a berth in heaven.

Also in Fort Worth, I see them occasionally. We found two of them here in my store the other day, in spanish of all things (odd only because we have almost zero spanish speaking customers).

I have a pretty open policy about what kind of flyers/literature people can leave around. People donate books and magazines all the time. Those I threw away.

Not really. I used to find them left on bus seats in San Francisco. And around where I live (uber-liberal Marin County, California) there’s someone who goes around taping Jesus-sodden anti-abortion tracts to lamp posts. I saved one that features the doctor from the “Eye of the Beholder” episode of Twilight Zone with “baby-killing abortion doctor” written repeatedly all the way around the border.

Crazy knows no geographical boundaries.

I talked my husband into picking them up for me when he’s on the road. All seven he’s brought home were in different truckstops in Southern California.
I have both a “Bob” and a “Little Suzie”.

Actually, this image kind of gives me some comfort. If, for some reason, I do end up in Hell, at least there’s a long line (billions upon billions!) before I get thrown in. And as other’s have pointed out, apparently I get to keep my stuff with me while I’m waiting!
Seriously, you’d think Satan would splurge a little and hire a team of angels to move things along a little.

He has a pretty funny Evolution poster that he hawks and claims exposes the “truth” about evolution.

All of you mockers are damned to Hel. Why you ask? Because you refuse to aknowledge the Sovereignty of Odin, the All Father, who so loved knowledge that he sacrificed himself to himself, in order that mankind, (and himself) might have eighteen magical runes.

Is it just me or is this poster anti-semitic? I’m not going to say what I think is anti-semitic about it. I want to see if anybody else notices it, besides me. Maybe I am applying my own prejudice?

…It sure reminds me of some Nazi propaganda I’ve seen before.

Well, I didn’t think that is looks anti-semetic, just stupid, they are clinging to a straw man. It claims that scientists cling to old theories, like letches, refusing to change, and furthermore, they put the same energy into worshiping their ancestors that these people put into making and promoting their strawmen.

Definitely. It shows the true difference between science and Creationist dogma.
Piltdown man was a hoax. It has been admitted to be a hox and so is no longer discussed as part of hominid evolution.

Science studies tests and jetisons those ideas and therories that are flat out wrong. If the data doesn’t support the theory the Theory is altered to explain the data. If the Data is wrong it too is retested and then thrown out if still in error.

Dogmatics, like those Creationist idiots, find conflicting data and try to rejigger the data so it fits the original idea.

In their world view the Bible is 100% correct or 100% wrong. If one part of the bible is wrong then they believe the whole thing must be. They think Science (or sane people) think the same way about their studies. They have a fool notion that if you attack one part of the theory the whole thing collapses like a house of cards.

Volunteer to do some shelving at your local library. Chickites like to leave them in the stacks, or shove them into books that they return. Indeed, I just had one of our pages find one Monday.

I encountered my first chick tract when I was a lad at Catholic school. Someone had scattered them all over the playground for us to find when we went out to continue our ongoing soccer game.

I have also had someone try to give me one in the men's room at Walmart (no, I dont shop there, I just piss there). I said something to the effect of "no thanks, I don't need to wipe."

heheheheeheehehehee

Scott wanders off, still laughing.

Anti-semitic? Are you refering to the Heidelberg man? Unless you think one of them looks Jewish. For that matter, do you think the Peking man looks Chinese?

I think the Modern Man looks like Chick’s Jewish characters.

Both versions of Embrace Me (Love of Death) are going on my playlist!

You’ve got to love “Dark Dungeons” Chick.com: Dark Dungeons

And my personal favorite “The Death Cookie” Chick.com: Death Cookie, The

And who can resist “The Gay Blade” Chick.com: Gay Blade, The

Ooh, me too! Um…Eichmann was forthright about his hatred for Jews?

Fools and Blasphemers! Where is your mockery now, as this thread returns to earth in a cloud of glory!

I don’t see anti-semitism, but I notice that Peking man seems to have epicanthic folds.
