I like QG. She’s spirited, like they always say of horses in movies I’ve seen but couldn’t name if pressed. She’s got heart— possibly even an enlarged heart— that bulges voluptuously and may occasionally scandalously slip its restraints altogether.
Probably should participate in fewer self-immolations, for now. There’s always time later, after you’ve honed your axe a bit.

What is the big fucking problem with Quiddity?
So she became apalled at the behavior of certain posters here in the Pit. Fig bucking deal; so did I! While she and I are at almost opposite poles on everything – and there have been times I thought she was an insufferable know-it-all and told her so – I’ve nevertheless developed a grudging respect for her. She’s smart as hell (with a tip of the hat to Excalibre 
), intellectually industrious (two words you’re not likely to find in such conjunction anywhere else), strives to inform herself on a wide variety of subjects, and in many non-Pit threads she is quick to offer helpful information whenever she can.
And in regard to the Pit, she has shown herself to posess a humanitarian aspect that I find admirable.
Frankly, I’m at a total loss to understand just what the hell has gotten all your panties in such a bunch. I don’t recall any post by her demanding that the nature of the Pit and/or its posters be changed. I don’t recall any demands (or even expressed wishes) that anything change other than that she thought people shouldn’t post things that are intended to be personally hateful and/or hurtful…pretty much the same things I’ve said. When we say people ‘shouldn’t’ do this or that, we don’t mean (and forgive me for putting words in your mouth if I’m wrong here) they should be prohibited by board policy from doing them; we mean they shouldn’t do it because we feel it’s morally wrong and that by giving voice to this belief, perhaps people will examine more closely the things they say and maybe decide that the damage they might do outweighs whatever it is they think they accomplish with their vicious and/or hurtful behavior.
Perhaps another reason why she’s coming in for so much grief now (and why I’m somewhat sympathetic to her), is that she – like your truly, I’m afraid 
– tends to state her opinions in a forceful and declarative manner which makes it look like she considers her statements to be fact rather than opinion.
Still, in spite of my own annoyance with her from time to time, I regard her as a valuable addition to this board and I hope that she will continue to post vigorously and in whatever way she wishes for as long as she wishes, even though I know we will likely lock horns more often than not.

Starving Artist Thank you for your kind words. We may never agree on politics, but that you, too, stood up to say that cruelty is neither enjoyable nor reasonable has given me new respect for you.
It distresses me to see people defending inhumanity. But then folks like yourself will come along and castigate people for their excesses in that regard and remind me that the world’s not filled with jackals - we just tend to stumble over a pack every now and then.
My suspicion is that, were I not female, the vitriol flung at me would not be quite as fiery. In fact, a couple times when people on boards hadn’t yet realized I was female, I got quite a different reception. Which is ‘interesting’ in all sorts of ways.

The whole fucking point is that you can “like” somebody and still give them shit. I cannot actually like or dislike a person based on their anonymous persona on the board.
I don’t know them. I can get pissed at their posts, but might really enjoy having a beer with them. (I don’t know about you though, with the girly drink thing .) That’s why this whole “don’t be so mean thing” baffles me. It’s just give and take on a board.
I guess some people take it way more serious than others.
I will say that sometimes posters here irritate the living shit out of me, like QG sometimes, but she seems to think those of us who fling shit are somehow psychotic fucks who always need to “calm down”. I don’t even think about this board unless I am actually having a “session” here.
