What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. You’ve called me (I’m one of the people on the thread in question) and others cowards but you can’t let my comments stand. Yeah, you said mistakes were made and you went too far, but how much are you backing off? Are you saying that you don’t wish us to be violated with metal implements, but the rest of the comments stand? Are we cowards or not? And why is that you can call others cowards but it’s too much to call you one?

I’m not going to cut and paste all the cited posted, and you did include the infamous one which was slapped down by a Mod, but the majority is just shit.
And this is where you have to look at context. I’m not going to argue about the categories, but let’s say that after a number of Type One and Type Two responses, someone comes along with a Type 3. Banana then starts to whine about how much his sister is better off having money stolen because if he’s in a happier mood, then he’s more pleasant to be around and his sister is stupid anyway. At that point, if a bunch of Type Fours come along, then I’d have to say that Banana gets whatever is coming his way.
Let’s say that someone out there has a brother who does the same type of shit to her. He steals her money for his crack habit. If she gives a Type four post, I’d have to agree with her. This is the internet, and you get to blow off steam.

Wrong as usual, sheepdip. It had to do with the practice of calling people phobic who weren’t, in point of fact, phobic. It’s just that I’m a strict constructionist, don’cha know. And, if you’ll recall, I quite pointedly stressed throughout that thread, and I believe my subsequent posting history bears this out quite readily, that I have no objection whatsoever to gay people or gay rights, and that in actual point of fact, some of my best friends are gay.
I have hoped from time to time that we might get to be friends, given that I’d come to feel you weren’t entirely characterized by biased, wrongthinking, hotheaded drunkenness as I originally thought, however crap like this makes me realize what a hopelessly biased, illogical, and wrongheaded dolt you truly are.
I do congratulate you, however, on the lucidity you managed to marshall in your last post which is noticibly in contrast to the rage-filled and almost decipherable gobbledegook I’ve seen you ejaculate in the past.

Not to speak for Quiddity, but in my case the primary motivation isn’t to define the boundaries of inhumanity; rather, it’s to call attention to the fact that certain people are far too ready to go for the jugular and pile on and try to cause damage to the psyche of someone whose behavior has particularly outraged them. Sometimes if people tell me I’m being an asshole in some regard, it causes me to examine my behavior and thinking and try to determine if they have a point. Other times, I think it’s someone who just doesn’t know what they’re talking about, like Mindless Fury for example, and I merrily go my way. I don’t look at it as though it’s up to me to set definite boundaries and I don’t much imagine Quiddity does either. This is why we don’t allow ourselves to get bogged down in trying identify which posts constitute inhumanity and which don’t. The answer lies more in the judgement, maturity and sense of right and wrong on the part of the offenders than it does on me.
But really, what else would you expect from a person who chooses to name himself ‘Red Fury’. It’s kind of like expecting sweetness and light from someone called ‘Puppy Murderer’
