From what I can see about James Otto he’s a backup type singer, C-list ranking, or possibly, at the very best, a low B list type.
We Dopers are an eclectic group, having many and varied interests. For absolutely one of us, pre-JOSH, to have heard of this person, means he can’t amount to much. A wannabe, a loser. Maybe that’s why JOSH identifies with him so strongly.
But I feel sorry for the bozo. He “mighta been a contendah…” if he didn’t have a stalker following him.
^^^ So far James has scored tow Grammy award nominations and has also been given a CMA and an ACM award for his songwriting. 
I don’t have anything to be sorry about because I am not wrong. The song was #1 for two weeks and then went on to be the #1 country of 2008.

That’s being kind of hard on the poor guy. He’s a one-hit wonder, which I think rates higher than backup type singer.

Exactly. He’s a one hit wonder who peaked five years ago. He was dumped by Warner Brothers. But nothing I’ve seen makes me think he deserves an albatross like Holly.

No my dear, it did not.
It charted #1 for a couple of weeks. There were many, many other songs that did the same that year. In fact, there were 25 of them. Mr. Otto’s song did not “go on to the the #1 country of 2008” It was one of 25 that were at the #1 spot for a couple of weeks.

How do I put this nicely… (also, why put it nicely?) … unless you think we have lower standards over her, change your behavior instead of complaining that other people should have ignored you or can’t handle the truth.
^^^ I don’t mean to be rude, but all that I did was share my beliefs which is something that we all have the right to do. If anyone needs to change their behavior, it is everyone else here because obviously they don’t know the respectful way to respond to what they do not agree with from me.

Are to believe JOSH, when she says James Otto told her he loved her? If he did, then he’s unfaithful to his wife, at least in his heart. Another strike against James. What a jerk.
