^^^ I appreciate what you said about my mom’s friend, thank you. What I don’t understand is why it takes some people’s bodies so long to let them know that something is wrong. There is a country singer from the 1990’s named Wade Hayes who didn’t know that he had colon cancer inside of him until it had already gone up to stage 4 as well.
God bless you and him and my mom’s friend always!!!
Holly
P.S. Wade was declared cancer free not too long ago, praise the Lord.
[serious] Technically speaking it’s the Optative Subjunctive. [/serious]
Gracias BR. It is all very clear to me now.
Even those who have asked you to not do so. Why do you feel the need to force your religion off on others?
How do you know it was not Satan who cured his cancer, because he has plans for him later on?
^^^ I don’t believe that Satan has that kind of power over a person.
I don’t feel that I am forcing anything on anyone, but if you hate what comes from my end of this forum enough, you know who to ignore.
God bless you two always!!!
Holly
What you feel is immaterial. You have been told you are forcing your religion on those who don’t want it and your answer is we are supposed to ignore you. How do you justify that kind of ego-centric behavior?
Over the years, I have encountered a large number of Christians who feel that such things as mental and/or physical illness is caused by Satan and are convinced He is lying in wait to work his will on the weak of faith.
Imagine that this forum was a buffet. Where is it written that you have to eat what it is that I have put on the menu?
God bless you always!!!
Holly
P.S. Where is it written that you absolutely have to acknowledge anything that I have to say here?
It’s like “God save the Queen”, or “Live long and prosper” for that matter. It’s not an imperative like “God, bless this person right now” would be, because it’s not an agency you have control or influence over. It’s more along the lines of “May God bless this person”, or “May the Force be with you”: I am expressing a wish that this thing happen.
This is not a response to my question; quit evading and answer it.
How do you justify that kind of ego-centric behavior?
^^^ I don’t recall being forced to answer anything that is asked of me. If you don’t like what I bring to the forum, find what you do like and leave everything else alone for those who do like it.
God bless you always!!!
Holly
You mean there’s another one?
Newsflash - nobody likes what you “bring to the forum”. You’ve made a joke out of your god and you’ve proven yourself to be a selfish bitch with no “Christian” mores. You lie, you wish harm on others, you indulge in pride, etc etc. Then on top of that you demand to be allowed to be a flaming asshole and anyone who doesn’t like it is supposed to just ignore you. That has got to be the definition of narcissism,
Yeah, it’s a beautiful thing. It makes every material influence in your life the result of external forces over which you have no control. At first it sounds enfeebling, but what people don’t realize is that complete powerlessness is empowering.
And sadly, in terms of describing the avg evangelical perspective on that, I don’t think I’m far off. LOL.
I don’t lie and I don’t wish harm on other people, but if you are choosing to think that I do, all that I can say to that is that I hope that you enjoy the losing end of this matter as much as a person can.
God bless you always!!!
Holly
You’re twice wrong.
So bizarrely, Satan can cause illness but not cure illness. Hmmm. Sounds like a case of wishful thinking on the part of some.
As for lying, I pay no regard whenever someone says they never lie. Truth tellers and liars alike say that, so how can you ever know? (And in this case, she’s been caught lying, so saying she never lies is an obvious lie.)
Holly:
I live at the buckle of the bible belt, so I am used to being wished to have a blessed day and such. Even though I am a non-believer, most of the time it really doesn’t bother me because I feel that it is that individual’s way of wishing good on me.
However, over the years, I’ve found that those Xians who “shout” the talk the loudest (ie everything they say being of a religious nature, etc) are the very ones who aren’t taking very many steps on the “walk”.
I don’t mind that you are religious, as likely many other folks on this forum. Personally, though, I would rather you take all of the time you spend “talking” the talk (mostly blessing internet strangers) and actually DO something positive for your community. I happen to know the area where you live and know that there are many people who could use a hand in putting groceries on the table, help around the house (you’re young and I’m assuming not beyond doing a bit of cleaning or painting for a senior or someone who is physically unable to do their own) or taken to an appointment of some kind. Keep in mind what the big guy himself said about faith without works being dead. That would actually earn the respect of anyone.
Missred, ever notice how often people say “have a blessed day” when they’re angry and it has that not-so-subtle subtext of “tuck you”?
