I was alerted that there was a question as to why I started this thread… to educate those that are actually educable. Initially, I knew nothing of the pitted poster, but I do know that, like myself, many members here have suffered from mental problems that have had them attempting suicide. Further, there’s also been quite a few of members’ loved ones who have died due to similar issues at their own hand. Knowing the stigma those of us face that do deal with these things on a daily basis, it’s only good for the evolving of humanity to combat such antiquated, damaging and shameful beliefs. However, this is only possible with people who care about being compassionate, understanding and helpful individuals. I had no idea how much a futile cause this would be in this case.
That said, I’d like to encourage those still participating to let this thread fall off the front page for a couple of reasons…

So, in conclusion, lets let the object of ire have the last word and channel our desire to make a difference somewhere that we actually can. This entire site is populated by folks who’d like to eradicate misconceptions they have. Let us focus on those who wish to be the change they want to see in the world and leave these sorts to their own devices.
Also, specifically the ignore function IS GOD. I highly recommend never having to read inane drivel again. Just saying.
At this point I’m pretty sure that the Straight Dope is running some sort of AI Algorithm to see if they can finally get me to put someone on my ignore list.

Apparently, you do have a problem. You keep whining and carrying on about how you have all these “rights” and no one can tell you what to do and blah blah blah. And just because people who have the right to not share your bizarre beliefs ask you nicely to quit forcing your god on them. It’s all about you and what you want - you have zero consideration for anyone else.
Nobody “chooses” the feelings they have in reaction to what you post. I realize you are completely unaware that other people have feelings, but you should be able to understand something that simple. Did you “choose” how you feel about James Otto?

Jesus personally told me he thinks JOSH sucks.
Why is it that people like you think that God needs you to defend him or protect Him or His name? Why is God so powerless in your world? God doesn’t need your help nor does he need you to shove him down everyone’s throat all the time. I am super-religious, others on this board will tell you, I am a Sunday School teacher, every Sunday church goer, pray every morning, night, and meal time, love God and Jesus with all my heart, raise my children in the church, yet I don’t feel the need to shove God at people who do not want to hear it. Those who do will come to you and genuinely ask about Him, those who don’t will only be further turned off by your aggressive unwanted proselytizing. You are not making a difference for good in the world, you are the “Christian” people hate. You are a horrible example and God doesn’t need help from someone like you, you are only hurting His cause.
However, the Devil would love to shake your hand, you are making life very easy for him.
^^^ Obviously you do not know him well enough to know that he wants us to take his word to the people especially to those who don’t even know who he is. People like you who don’t do such a thing are those that he most likely shakes his head at and probably more than you realize.
