Both run or inspired by insane person
Both failed
People died at both of them
People ended up in jail at both
The 2 Leaders of the movements were not arrested (so far for Trump)
Jan 6th inspired by the putsch

. . . who were alleged to have literal temper tantrums when things didn’t go their way. Now we know.
Both led to absolute disaster for their country and citizens within 20 years.
I don’t think it will take that long this time. Everything moves faster in the 21st century.
Imagine Hitler if they had Twitter back then.
Huh? Hitler fled the scene but he was arrested two days later, charged with treason, put on trial, and sentenced to five years in prison.
Shame that justice moves so much more slowly in the USA. Trump under arrest on Jan 8th, or Jan 22nd, would have been a lot better for our future.
A trial that he shamelessly used for self-promotion, that ended with a slap on the wrist (5 years were the minimum sentence), and he got free on probation after having done only 8 months at the Landsberg prison, which he spent with exceptional privileges and used to write “Mein Kampf”.
Yes, definitely history to learn from.
I don’t have to, I’ve got Trump
Not fair to Hitler. AFAIK, Hitler was never alleged to have thrown food dishes laden with ketchup against the wall, swept the contents of a dinner table to the ground, or tried to assault one of his own bodyguards. Apparently when Hitler had a tantrum, he just yelled a lot.
Also, Hitler liked dogs. The Orange Peril has no use for them. He once claimed that playing with a dog would “make [him] look stupid”. We sure wouldn’t want that to ever happen!

By comparison, of course. Strange that he managed to become aware of that fact.
One big difference between both putsches is that Hitler was on an ascending curve when he tried to access power by force while tanTrump was on a descending curve when he tried to hold on to power by force.
Holding on to something you have should have been easier than getting something you don’t.
Trump is an asset for his political rivals: he motivates the base of the Democrats like no other. Hitler was not hated enough (he was not even taken seriously - and if you ever read Mein Kampf, you’ll know why) until it was too late.
At least Hitler wrote a book, albeit a bad one. tanTrump has not even read one in is life.

I seem to recall something about meat hooks, and Rommel committing suicide to save his family. But I digress.

Just a variation on tantrums. Haven’t there been allegations that when Hitler had tantrums, he rolled on the floor, screamed, and chewed on the edges of the carpet? (Or am I conflating that with Khrushchev when they wouldn’t let him go to Disneyland?)
Hitler refused to use chemical weapons. He never had a nuke so I assume he would have used one if he had one.
Yes, but I think “chewing the carpet” was an idiom like “climbing the walls” - not literal

I think he did more than that. IIRC, those that pissed Hitler off were court martialed, shot and sent to the Russian front.
In that order!
