Jason Sehorn - The History Channel

Caution slight rant ahead…
It was bad enough that the History Channel promoted ad nauseum “On the Road Week” with Jason Sehorn in the last few weeks. Yet, I was kinda looking forward to seeing a ROAD TRIP program. So I tune to the “Grand Canyon” and watch a brief promo by Sehorn (which was even shorter than the promos I think)then the same old dreary John Heard narrated documentary the channel is famous for appears. I admit I tuned out after about ten minutes, but was I the only person expecting something totally different?

That’s funny. I was enraptured from (almost the) beginning to end. Didn’t even surf. I’m familiar with the Grand Canyon, having visited both rims, hiked to the river (and back) from the south rim, and spent 21 days on a raft floating through it so maybe it was a trip down memory lane more than anything else. I liked the show because it went over some of the local legends, some of which have rapids named after them, The Hyde mystery (a great canyon-bottom campfire tale if there ever was one), the artist guy and his family, the Glen Canyon Dam controversy, the boatmen, and so on. The only problem I see is how can they follow it up with Las Vegas? But I guess that’s what a road trip is all about!
