Okay, you got me there. You get the +1.
Oh, well if we’re down to mod noted vs warning, then we’re in angels dancing on the heads of pins territory. I withdraw my question and my disagreement.
Thank you, Fenris, for exemplifying my point. The whole point of that thread was to discuss the possibility that some sexual contact with children does not qualify as rape. The discussion in the thread was actively calling into question the value of consent, especially as it applies to children. Rather than discuss the idea of consent, and the possibility that much of the emotional harm to children came not from the event itself, but from the anxiety created by judgement over the event, Tangent assumed and declared intentions to the poster. That is ad hominem, making it about the poster rather than the argument.
Fucking kids IS rape. There is no possibility otherwise. A child cannot consent to being fucked. It’s a dumbass argument and doesn’t deserve the courtesy of debate any more than “Hitler was right, killing all Jews would make the world a better place” is. Or do you think that’s ok argument to have as well?
Have you guys read post #55? If not, you might want to.
While your opinion of modding is as welcome as it always is, discussing “Kiddie fucking–Why tricking a little child into giving ‘consent’ makes it ok” is allowed vs “Genocide! An exciting idea who’s time has come!” gets a warning if not an ban is well within the scope of the discussion and post 55.
I have PMed you.
I don’t disagree with either of you…I was just offering an explanation since it was asked for, that’s all.

The question he asked is directly on the topic addressed by this thread. It is directly related to the specific issue he raised in the OP. What possible reason could there be for not answering the question in the thread?
Because I wasn’t the mod who issued the warning? My PM to him was telling him he might be mistaken and it turns out, he was. He had thought I had given out the warning to the poster when it was JC…so my opinion on the matter doesn’t have anything to do with the situation, I don’t mod GD (nor would I want to).
I had wanted to not draw attention to it, thus the PM, but if you really wanted to know…there you go.
ETA: And if you want to know what my opinion is anyway to what he asked, I have no opinion. I was just offering an explanation of the difference I think MrDibble was talking about, beyond that, I have no opinion regarding this matter.
That is an opinion that could be expressed in a thread discussing the topic of children and sex. I was not trying to argue that topic here, I was describing the intent of the thread and how that intent was hijacked by people asserting motives to the thread participants.
I disagree that the questions are equivalent.
God, that sounds dirty.
But better than “I have BMed you.”
Of course I knew, when I opened the thread, that JC had given the warning. In the back and forth over the “vulgarity” issue, I forgot that IT was not the mod who gave the warning. It would, though, be somewhat interesting to hear JC’s thoughts on the issue, but at this point I’ve kinda lost interest.
