my first thought about the lasted vance statement was that unmarried childless teachers were the norm, not the exception for much of us history. a married teacher might, maybe, happen in extreme circumstances.

I just heard a reporter on CBS, relate the story of vance telling Harris to go to h e double hockey sticks and then she opined that it was very unusually harsh rhetoric for the campaign trail!

Regionally, it might be an effective campaign strategy, to tell the other candidate to FO. It might even work at a statewide level. If you want to do that on a national level, you had better be a HST or LBJ type or it will just make you look like a bitter PoS. It will probably work with MAGAts but not really with anyone else.
