Apparently, even some gift links require the user of the free link to still set up an account in order to use it; I’ve shared gift links to WaPo articles regularly, and I’ve had fellow Dopers indicate that they “can’t” read the link, because they don’t want to give the Post their email address.
Yes, of course, and someone always says they can’t read it, and to post another source (instead of simply googling themselves). (Sometimes they won’t click because they don’t want to generate traffic to a site, like to X.) I read it today on WaPo, which people really hate because it makes you give an email. This info is available all over the web, so people can find a link that works for them.
I post NYT gift links all the time and label them as such. I’ve never had someone say they can’t read the article and in fact have had people thank me for sharing it.
I know what you are talking about with links to X and WaPo articles. My comment is limited to NYT articles.
Well, I saw it on MSNBC. He’s a slimey, little, sleezy, prick. He refused to answer the question 4 times. He kept bringing up completely unrelated garbage, and told her he would answer her question, if she answered his bs, “questions.” I seriously don’t want this mendacious, bottom dwelling, vermin, anywhere near the White House.
In the clip I saw, he was going on about Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Guess what, JD? No one cares about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Sure it would have been great for Trump if he could have another version of the Comey Surprise that won him the first election. But nobody cares about Hunter Biden enough for this to work again. Get some new material.
Also, while we’re on the subject of stories being “suppressed”, I haven’t heard much about Trump’s Epstein connection lately. Why isn’t the media talking about that one? Elon Musk was doing “kung fu” with Ghislaine Maxwell as if either of them actually know kung fu! Well JD, your schtick is how you’re all about the children… your boss appears to be a child predator and hangs around with other child predators… should the news talk about that? Is that more important than Hunter Biden’s laptop maybe?
Your first post about this references the interview being printed in the NYT without mentioning anything about WaPo. Thus my confusion about what you feel people complain about regarding links.
It’s not really suppressed, but it’s not out there like it should be: the whole Stern interview wherein he’s confessing to sleazing into the dressing room of his teen beauty pageant. It’s his very fucking voice. That thing should be on a continuous loop.
Seems like the best use of Vance would be to make him explain every crazy thing trump says. Who cares what he thinks, have him interpret trump. It would make them both look sick.
Vance, as one would expect, was slick and fake. The usual dodges—“you’re repeating a slogan”; “you answer my question and I’ll answer yours” [oh, sure!]; “we’re focused on the future”—were wielded with Vance’s customary stiff AI-affect.
Donald Trump’s presidential campaign worked with X to prevent information about JD Vance from being posted on the social media platform, a move that resulted in the journalist who revealed the information being kicked off the site, according to reports.
The former president’s team contacted X, owned by the billionaire Trump backer Elon Musk, about a 271-page document compiled by his campaign to vet his running mate that was linked to by Ken Klippenstein, an independent journalist, the New York Times has reported.
