Thankfully, my job allows jeans and tshirts. Yesterday I had a client dinner so I dressed up. Today it’s back to No Moleste tshirt and jeans and I couldn’t be happier.
As much as i wear just jeans and a t-shirt when not at work, I have to agree with Unintentionally Blank that sometimes it’s nice to wear something, well…nice.
I don’t care for most of my work pants…they are mostly all khaki’s. Which, while ok, are not classy enough for me when I want to feel classy. I have to go black for that.
I’d wear black pants all the time at work if not for the fact that then I’d have to wear my black shoes, and my only black shoes are quite dressy, shiny patent leather and all, and sort of uncomfy. It’s a lot easier to find comfy brown shoes that look “dressy” enough than black ones.
But sometimes I just feel like I should wear a suit…class it up, all the way…bring out my inner Barney Stintson! So every now and then, on a Friday or Saturday night when my friends and I go out, I’ll “suit up.” I’ll usually forgo the tie, though…that way, I’m the perfect mix of classy…yet casual. I’ve finished the “big presentation to the board,” and it was a smashing success, now time to celebrate the merger! Or something.
I’m really glad I work in I.T. We can wear pretty much anything. I’m either in Jeans or sometimes Carharts. Occasionally shorts and sandles (I live in a cold climate so that’s pretty rare). I hate dressing up. It feels so, so unnatural and therefore very uncomfortable.
I wear jeans pretty much every day, but graduated from T Shirts to Hawaiian shirts when my belly became middle aged.
1992 called and it wants its shorts back.
Just funnin’, yo.
I’m wearing jeans and a Stinson Beach Market t-shirt today in honor of this thread.
Me, for almost all my life.
.
I work at home, so wear gym shorts and t-shirts. When I go out, I wear jeans or shorts, depending on the season. But always a t-shirt.
Once or twice a year I wear a tux.
If you’re a grown man, unless you’re going to a rock concert, hosting an informal barbecue or doing manual labor - sorry guy, this is too sloppy.
It won’t affect your comfort at all to throw a polo, collared shirt or sweater (depending on the weather/temperature) over that tee. And on the plus side, you’ll look like a grown-up.
Jeans and tee shirts, along with a hanging open button down work shirt, are my daily uniform.
Does this mean I’m a guy and no one told me?
I own my own business and make my own dress-code, thanks. If a customer is not happy with my dress, fuck em.
I wear jeans and teeshirts all the time, although I have to point out that the tees I wear are meant to be wearable as regular shirts. I’d never go out in a plain white tee a la Fonzie; IMHO that’s only one step above walking about in public in your boxers.
Jeans and T-shirt, sure. Heck, neat dark straight-cuts, a nice fresh thick solid-colored tee, sportcoat and loafers or Docs and you’re ready to hit the town, man.
Alas, the equatorial expansion as the half-century mark passes does call for reconsidering the look. Some styles require a certain bodily geometry to pull off well.
Old fatigue/“cargo”/work pants were my dress-down style most of the time, anyway.
But what I will not go for are “golf pants” (unless of course golfing; which I don’t). Nu-uh. That is the true sign it’s all over.
Jeans n’ T shirt in the winter. Camo shorts n’ t shirt in the summer. If its a formal occasion then a shirt with a collar. Oh and my most comfy Top Siders if shoes are required. (I have to wear a uniform for work.)
Nah, it’s winter in Wisconsin. Jeans & a sweatshirt is my uniform.
Oh, almost forgot. On top of long underwear.
It is the *only *way to dress, providing you have your switchblade in your *back *pocket, and your Camels are rolled up inside your *left * side sleeve.
Guilty as charged y’honor.
ed: And sweats, hoodies and pullovers. Casual = comfortable
I can’t even remember the last time I or my husband wore jeans and a t-shirt. We’re slacks people now. And anyway, jeans are uncomfortable.
I’m yet more of a jeans person than a slacks person by percentage.
I’d estimate jeans and tees occupy 25% of my available closet space. The nice thing is you can never have too many. Everytime you go somewhere cool or see one that appeals to you FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER it’s perfectly acceptable to buy it, bonus points if it’s one size too large.
These are two parts of the equation, the third being ballcaps.
Unfortunately, even on casual Fridays this ensemble is just a tad too casual for my officeplace. Therefore, it’s mandatory wear all weekend long.
