My wife is in Manhattan to see a show. What else is there to do but whip up a batch of the best spaghetti and clam sauce this side of Mulberry street.
What did you have for dinner?
I cooked up some linguine with cheese sauce and added some sauteed chicken strips.
Voila! Dinner at work for three days.
Fettuccine and pesto sauce.
Coupla T-bones on the grill. Packets of cubed potatoes on the grill. Garlic bread on the grill.
Anyone noticing a trend here?
My dad made chicken & rice (casserole made with rice, mushroom soup, onion soup, water and chicken breasts) and I haven’t had that in ages, so I went there for dinner. Yum!
Yassa megs.
Rye bread was on sale, so I needed something to put between a couple of slices. Made some egg salad with “sharp and sweet” prepared mustard and a dab of mayo. Yummy.
I threw four hot dogs onto two slices of toast, grated some cheddar over them, then drowned the whole plate in canned chili.
May i borrow this recipe. Sounds flatulatingly delicious.
This is my wife’s week to cook (we trade off.) Tuesday was our 30th anniversary, so we went out to a classy joint to celebrate. Stone Creek, at Hamilton Commons.
Last night, she came home with a take & bake pizza covered with mushrooms and red onions.
We usually plan a week’s menus on a calendar on the front of the fridge, but the rest of the week is blank.
French fries, and a sugar cookie.
College cafeteria.
Hey, AskNott:
Congrats on your anniversary! 30 years kicks some major ass. I wish you both many more.
As for myself? I am currently cooking about 10 chicken drumsticks in enough chicken stock to stew them in with bay leaves, peppercorns, and Italian herb seasoning. When the chicken is falling off the bone, I will chill it all down until manageable. I will then strain the broth, adding a roux of butter and flour and milk to make gravy, add back the picked-through chicken meat and some onions, mushrooms, green bell peppers, and garlic that I’ve sauteed in butter, and pour the resulting mixture over fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits…
…and die and go to Heaven.
I may be a lonely old bachelor, but that’s no excuse to settle for pizza rolls every night.
Can I get a “word up”?
Southwest Chicken salad from McDonalds.
A slice of ham with rice and raw carrots and celery. Oh, and a roll. Dessert was canned peaches and a couple of cookies. Typical meal hall food.
A large spinach salad with cornbread croutons, mandarin oranges, almonds and red onions with a dressing made of crushed pineapple, sour cream and soy bacon bits, topped with grilled portobella mushrooms. Mmmm.
Oh, washed down with a can of cream soda, a special indulgence.
Home made chili from the freezer over pasta with parma cheese and pepper vinegar.
Jeet Yet ?
No, Jew?
We had fried catfish, baked tater wedges and okra & tomaters…
You may, but be sure to boil the hot dogs as Og intended, no blasphemous microwaving of the tasty tube steak.
Another of my super secret dishes is Tuna in Ramen.
FOUR hot dogs plus cheddar and chili (presumably a whole can)? On TWO slices of toast? … How many people did this feed?!
