Jeopardy! 2022-23

Well, it does sound a bit like articulated. That’s my excuse :slightly_smiling_face:

I always thought it had something to do with their bodies being able to squeeze and crush prey. Probably because the only time I’ve ever heard it has been “reticulated python.”

There’s an episode of The Simpsons where Lisa sees a chipmunk and calls it a “northern reticulated chipmunk”. I don’t think that species actually exists, but it did make me realize that I didn’t know what “reticulated” meant.

This, exactly.

I’ve never heard the word used when describing a giraffe, or anything else, for that matter.

I did get that one. I guess med school latin is good for something…

Looking something up embiggins the soul

Am I the only one who over thought Monday’s FJ? The only other visionary type name I could think of was Bucky Fuller :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I didn’t overthink it, though Buckminster Fuller does have a slight connection to the right answer.

Fuller crossed my mind, but he died later than that. I remembered that Disney died in the mid '60s.

Same. I also could only come up with Fuller. The connection to EPCOT never crossed my mind, though was obvious once revealed.

I thought Disney was way too obvious. I also thought he hadn’t died that long ago.

I went with Fidel Castro. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

mmm

ETA: And now I Googlelearn that Castro didn’t die until 2016

I almost got this wrong, I thought the architect Wright must have passed around then since there was a Simon and Garfunkel song about it. But then I picked up on the hint.

My first thought was Bucky Fuller as well, until I remembered that I saw him speak in 1970.

Then the only other obvious answer (to me, at least) was Disney.

I saw him once, too; in about 1982.

It would have been a lot harder if they’d used a more generic description, but what amounted to the acronym was a dead giveaway for me.

Disney is so obvious that I thought it was a trick question, if that makes any sense.

Makes sense to me. My first thought was Walt Disney. But that was too easy; there’s gotta be a trick to this. Hmm …

The clue explicitly referred to EPCOT (experimental prototype community in Florida), so I thought it was easy. Although I didn’t know Disney died in 1966… I would have guessed mid-70’s

IMO, the performance of all three contestants in today’s (4/11) Final Jeopardy is evidence of why America is fucked.

I thought one of the names for the 4/11 FJ was obvious. I got the other one too but with much less confidence.

But yeah, the contestants had some bad guesses.
