Jeopardy Auditions

My husband asked if he could use my Jeopardy! pen. I said “NO!

50 Questions? Man, maybe I went to the wrong audition.

I went to one about 3 (?) years ago at the local college. I think somebody really dropped the ball. The local paper said that the event would start at 10AM. We didn’t get seated in the auditorium until around 1 PM. Seems too many people showed up. When I got there, they were giving out numbered armbands to determine testing order. Then they started asking everybody to sign in on the clipboard at the table outside and *that *would determine testing order. There was no real organization or lines or anything. Once we were in the auditorium, they gave us alternating Version A and Version B 10-question paper tests (with the free pens). Jimmy said that the computer testing equipment had died and we had to take the paper tests. I imagined somebody sitting in a corner of the computer lab furiously cranking out test copies. Then we all herded over to another room where we got to play a three-question round and then were herded off to go our own merry ways.

Don’t get me wrong; I love the show but somebody really seemed to have screwed the pooch. It was very unorganized.

Yes, this.

I’ve had two auditions before, and did quite well on the online test last January (scored 44) and didn’t even get an audition this time. I’m sure there are dozens of reasons why they can’t pull you aside and say, “no chance,” but I think I’d prefer to know there’s no hope than to take that test over and over again on the deluded notion that you have a shot.

By the way, up till now, the online test has always been at the end of January. Unless it changes, start visiting the Jeopardy! web site at the turn of the year for sign ups.

I was in the first group of mock game people when I auditioned… and I got on…

Love the College Tournament.

For those who’ve actually appeared: what was the lag between tape and air time?

I taped September 14th and the shows taped that day will air December 6th through December 10th. I have no idea if the delay is always the same.

That is a normal lag time for September. I think there is a tournament or two in between your taping and airing.

Mine taped in mid-March and aired on July 27th.

Just a quick bump, this thread is very helpful, since I will be going to Salt Lake City on March 10/11…for my shot at a Jeopardy! pen:cool:
