I have nothing to add. I just like saying "Jerry Springer… The Opera"
I saw the stage show in the West End last Friday night. It was fan-freaking-tastic.
As to John Beyer, I reply (in falsetto)…
*Shut your fucking face, cunty-cunt!
Cunty-cunt!
Cunty-fucking-cunnnnnnnt!*
Well dip me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians!
It’s absolutely brilliant, and quite staggeringly offensive. The BBC’s complaint line will melt down.
If making operas based on talk show hosts becomes popular might we see an Oprah Opera in the near future.
Brilliant!! I’ve missed out on several opportunities to see the stage version, and have been very envious as a result.
(BTW, that’s sloppy reporting with the ‘Mediwatch’ quote - it’s actually from Mediawatch UK, which is the current incarnation of Mary Whitehouse’s legacy, and so can be safely ignored. And it’s hardly as if the show could be more offensive than Monkey Dust is )
Talk to the stigmata.
What I want to know is when do we get it in America? (I’m dying to see if there are protests :D)
This may be the first opera I’ll actually watch. I know Springer is exploitive, and often seems staged, but I can’t stop watching it every night. It’s one of those shows where no matter how miserable I think my life is at the time, I can watch this show and say to myself, “Self, life really ain’t so bad!”
I saw this over the summer. It was amazing!
Mamma give me smack on the asshole…
I hope it’s OK bumping this thread - after all, the show just got aired…
And it was great.
Hums…he’s a cunting-cunting-cunting-cunting-cunt……
Brilliant! What a show! Thank you BBC for finally bringing us some quality programming again.
*…You’re a three-nippled cousin-fucking asshole…
Ummm… *
:smack:
But if they’re smart they’ll call it Operah.
And as for Jerry Springer, yes, the show is great!
That was great. Not being a fan I wasn’t that fond of the really operatic singing parts but on the whole it was highly enjoyable.
Very funny and a nice balance to the religious muck the BBC produce like Songs of Praise
Eve trying to give Jesus a handjob under his nappy was a true highlight.
And who’d have guessed the Devil was such a cunt
Fantastic! I loved it.
I’m jealous as fuck, you cunting cunts! I really hope this makes it to America. The country’s Righteous Indignation meter will go off the scale.
Apparently the BBC has receioved thousands of complaints, and
It received thousands of complaints before the broadcast. Apparently these people are so spiritual that even contemplation of religious satire is too much for them
Watched 5 minutes of it.
It was opera with sweary words.
Opera = people shouting at each other in different pitches with no noticable tune.
Sweary words = not entertaining in themselves unless you are 8 years old.
I didn’t like it.
The Klan had a good tune…as did the Devil…
