There are some who think Jesus doesn’t talk to his followers.
*A prosperity gospel televangelist from Louisiana says Jesus has asked him to buy a new private jet. And wouldn’t you know it, Jesus has real nice taste in planes.
Jesse Duplantis, leader of Jesse Duplantis Ministries and the owner of three other private jets, is asking his followers to chip in so his ministry can purchase a brand new Dassault Falcon 7X, which runs about $54 million.
In a video recently published on his website, Duplantis says the planes get him closer to the Lord – both literally and figuratively – and he had a divine conversation in which Jesus asked for the new aircraft by name. *
What I don’t get is why Jesus needs a bizjet, doesn’t he teleport?
And his servants are suppose to walk right?
I think we’re being sold something here.
I guess his other planes don’t spread the word fast enough. Of course after Jesus spoke to him telling him to get the plane Jesus told me it was all a misunderstanding and he should walk since that is what Jesus would do. Not sure if there is such a thing as an honest televangelist.
Some of the Lords servants certainly do fly as seen in the Bible, the angel like beings for one. Sometimes people are given such a lift in such vessels, even up to the heavens, so Jesus even uses a warp capable spaceship. Also they have traveled by animal power, and by ship, for that matter submarine style by fish.
Not sure why anyone would think the Lord of all Creation would be limited to hoofing it, they’re all His.
The same as Jesus saw the Pharisees. Leaders of the church are basically them, actually they are them as that is what Paul established as the method Paul chose to fulfill his divine mission, namely spread the name of Jesus to the gentiles. Paul did what he knew to accomplish that, created temples. But Jesus, through the angles of the churches, do work in the churches, so the Kingdom of God is advanced.
God is there to turn hearts to Love (aka, God), but God must go to where the hardened hearts are, so allows these places as places for Him to reach them when they start looking.
God does speak to people, do I think God spoke to this pastor which more to your question. Perhaps God did, but if God did I would say it is more likely in the form of ‘yes do it, since you are determined to do this anyway’, and God plans to use it to the advancement of His Kingdom regardless of this person, then to use this person to advance God’s Kingdom. This would seem to indicate that this person is so far lost that God has stopped trying to reach him for a time.
And to directly answer you, I do think this pastor is so far lost that God is basically letting it run it corse with him and it is not God he is really hearing.
While it is possible he is a scam artists, which I would define that he knows he is a fraud, I feel there is plenty of room for belief that he is serving God. One can even say that if he started with such a belief and was lead into prosperity ministry and it worked, his belief would continue, which would make him not a scam artist.
