Jesus, Ozzy... know when to quit!

I was introduced to Poe in elementary school. I’ve loved his work ever since.
I was introduced to Ozzy in high school. IMHO In his prime, Ozzy’s voice was one of the finest I’ve ever heard.

But until now, I never realised how well they would go together. Imagine Sabbath doing The Bells.
RE-Medication
I’ve had plenty of experience with anti-depressants. They sometimes do turn patients into thorazombies. I have no cable so I haven’t seen a single episode, but it sounds as though Ozzy’s behavior is the result of side effects rather than burn out. On melaril, I actually fell asleep while standing up( It was in gym class and we were in a tight group listening to the coach. I leaned on the guys around me and dozed off. When everyone took off for the field, I woke up just in time to keep from falling).

A lot of drug abusers have undiagnosed psychiatric problems. For these people drugs are an attempt at self medicating. Stimulants (cocaine, speed, etc) are an attempt to fight depression directly. Depressants (alcohol especiallY) are an attempt to dull the pain or escape into semiconsciousness.

Ozzy likely stays on the meds to keep from going back to the bottle.

My point wasn’t comparing the music, but the output. I like some of the Beetles stuff. I also like Mozart and the Ramones. My point is that Ozzy has been touring, writing and influencing music for 30 years and he never seems to get the credit he deserves while the Beetles get more credit than they deserve.

By the way, Poe is obviously a better writer than Shelley.

I love Poe. But I think Shelley can hold his own:

As fine a piece of work as ever was done by anyone. Ozzy-mandias?

Hey Lib…wanna take this outside???

I’d quote some Poe at you, Al Aaraaf, Annabel Lee or The Bells but I don’t have the next three days free.

I think the Poe story ‘The Imp of Perverse’ describes Ozzy’s actions quite well.

Ozzy is a better concert player than Paul, even if he is a walking medicine cabinet. Ozzy’s performance, or lack of it, on the Tonight Show (shown in The Osbournes episode where he and his security guard exchanged embarrasing looks) looks like something Paul McCartney would do almost everytime.

I didn’t see that episode, but I keep hearing people reference it. Why did he and his guard exchange embarrassing looks?
