At least when curlers riot the city is actually cleaner than when they started.
golf clap
True. But not all of us live in a such a wasteland.
Actually, I grew up in New England, and while we have a milder climate than Canada, we loved playing hockey on the frozen ponds in winter. Of course, kids these days have their indoor ice rinks and all that nonsense. We had to risk freezing to death if we fell through the ice if we wanted to play hockey!
I can get 80% of the goldfish population of my house to watch my Saturday night one man performance of Lady Windermere’s Fan and you don’t see me bragging about it.
Though I should. Its breathtaking.
Well, you must admit, soccer has the worst fans of any sport. True low lifes who think that fighting after the game is part of the event. Do you deny this?
Obvious troll is obvious.
You can of course but you won’t be winning any converts - you’ll just come off looking dumb.
First of all, it’s true.
Second, he says, “too often”.
Sorry your sport of choice has some asshole fans associated with it but you need to comes to grips with the fact that it’s a widely know fact around the globe. You’ll do yourself and your sport a bigger favor by showing you’re not one of those reactionaries - nor are a majority of fans - than by railing against those who notice that real violence exists.
Well ya, because we have the best weed in B.C. Bud.
Vancouver, why the Luongo face?

I keep wondering if there were riot-instigators from outside of Vancouver in that crowd. Do you suppose there’s any truth to that?
Also, I wonder why Vancouver rioted but Calgary didn’t. The circumstances were very similar, with such different results.
Let’s not play the blame game. You vicious, violent Canadians need to take responsibility for your barbarism.
Soccer has a small minority of fans that are complete idiots. Other sports seem to have a small minority of fans that seem to not only be able to ignore the problems their own fans have but also apparently think that all soccer fans are violent thugs.
Either that or your choice of words “has the worst fans of any sport”, not “some of soccer fans are the worst fans of any sport,” were extremely poorly chosen or, frankly as someone else has said, pure trolling.
Why would I?
The violent thugs in Hysel in 1985, that got all English clubs banned from Europe in the late 80s, saw my team (Coventry City) unable to play in Europe the one and only time in my lifetime that they have qualified (1987, for winning the FA Cup). As football fan with an English accent I have been the target of abuse on many occasion, with people (as has been seen in this thread) assuming the worst of me from the off. The violent thugs irritate the shit out of me and I wish they would all just fuck off.
However, at the same time, those that assume the worst of football fans, especially fans of England and English clubs, and ignore the facts that there have been huge improvements and that it was only ever a very small minority annoy the shit out of me as well.
I have been to many a football match in my life. The only time I have seen any trouble was at a Hammarby-Malmö match in Sweden a couple of years or so ago, where someone threw a bottle at a linesman. Speaking to, generally, Americans on places like here, you’d think every match day saw a riot. And yes, that attitude irritates me.
Your club sucks. Coventry hooligans probably also suck.
“What’s next” turned out to be even more ridiculous than a curling riot:
They should stop letting Cockney flower girls in to those events.
This is the type of brawling too often associated with polo.
I used to have some time for your posts. Until you managed to read this much into a pretty “day at the beach post”.
Another soccer tragic I suspect.
Hardly. Vancouver scored 8 goals in 7 games.
I doubt this very much.
And I am GAA tragic thank you very much.
This is the type of inaccuracy too often associated with Australians.
