I like Jimbee. It seems friendlier than Jim B.

I’d think Gym Bee would be someone always buzzing about exercise.
Jimbee I would connect with the word jamboree–and thus Boy Scouts and outdoors.
That’s just horrible. I feel awful about laughing.
I think Jim B would be a great sloop name.
King Bee. Comes with instant theme song: Slim Harpo – I'm a King Bee Lyrics | Genius Lyrics
And then there’s Jumbie, a rum liqueur bottled in St Martin.
I thought this looked familiar.

Didn’t you remember that “this isn’t really about this message board”?
This has my vote.
When I practiced Tae-kwon-do, the command “Jimbee!” from the instructor meant “get ready to fight!”
^ Close. The ready stance is “joonbi.”
Yeah, they probably laughed at my American accent. :o

My vote would be to stick with Jim B. Like **Chronos **said, it’s a simple, direct username. It also gives off a more mature vibe than Jimbee, IMHO. Also, I’m used to it, so don’t go changing things.
I’m actually not particularly a fan of my own username. It’s not what I use anywhere else on the internet – but this is the first place I ever had to pick an anonymous username online, and that’s what I came up with at the time. (I may have also been a bit intimidated by the established community when I first joined the board, and was looking for a simple, inoffensive username at the time – but now it looks a little juvenile to my eyes.) With that said, I don’t feel strongly enough about it (yet) to request a change, and I’m sure other board members are used to my established username as well.
“Jimbee” lacks a certain gravitas, I feel. I suggest “Cyprian Manloving”. Or “David St. Hubbins”, whichever.
Jimbee makes me think of Gymboree, a preschool for wealthy parents back in Bangkok. Or Jumbo. I’d stick with Jim B.
I don’t see a problem with the form: “[First Name] [Last Initial].”
We have so much in common! Let’s be friends?

N.B. you can pronounce it “Jimbee,” though. But then it loses that certain ring, so be aware.
This. Jimbee is a stupid name.
I still have no plans on changing my name. But I thought I’d throw one more thing out there for you. Back when I was quite small, I would count ordinal numbers “nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-oneth, twenty-twoth…” and so forth. Anyways, obviously there is no twenty-oneth or twoth. But that would make an interesting name–twoth. Because I am merely a pretender to the throne, get it? I could even shorten it to “tooth”. That would certainly keep people guessing as to what I mean.
Also, I might as well tell you, FWIW, I once chose the temporary name (on a message board) of Hunu. Cause who knew it was true? Get it? Not too thought-provoking, I know. But I just thought it up on the spare of the moment, in any event.
P.S. Does this count as resurrecting a zombie thread? I honestly don’t know, cause it has only been a couple of weeks after all.
Who knew?
