Jimmy Dean has died

Big Bad John hisownself has has passed on to that big sausage factory in the sky.

He’s gone back to the five and dime.

I may have jinxed him by mentioning him in a thread just this past week.

Sorry, Jimmy.

Did you ever see his TV show?

Wrong J. Dean.

I used to watch his show. Since I was kid, I liked his bits with the Muppet dog Rowlf best. Here’s one segment:

I always got him mixed up with Jerry Reed, who was one goofy mofo. The man made a good sage sausage though, and it’s an annual ingredient in my turkey stuffing.

Interestingly, I just cooked up a bunch of breakfast links for my kids for a late breakfast/early lunch. Unfortunately my wife is a Philistine and had bought Johnsonville, or it would have been a fitting send off.

So, what are they doing with the body?

Anyone got a link?

That was the wurst pun yet.

“Bert Saxby? Tell him he’s fired!”

Stand your ground, Jackmanii!

Article from 2004. Quite a successful busnessman.

Ah, yes. Jimmy Dean and Rowlf. I remember watching his show as a kid. This was my first exposure to the Muppets and Jim Henson’s magical world…

Sara Lee, the company that owns the Jimmy Dean brand these days, dropped him as a spokesman in 2004. Apparently he didn’t have much love for Sara Lee after that.

I also learned from that article that he played Willard Whyte in “Diamonds are Forever.”

My favorite Jimmy Dean-related story:

:frowning:

The very first record I bought with my own money was the 45 “Big Bad John.” It was 1961, and I think 45s were fifty cents in those days. I wore that thing out.

RIP Jimmy!

KneadToKnow, you’re making it very difficult to remain reverent here. That made me laugh… hard. Oh well, it probably did Jimmy too.

Goddammit, beat me to it…

It WAS confusing having two celebs (and, as I look it up, two celebs who did movies) with the same name.

Worth starting a thread about… watch this board.
