Joan is uncomforable with sudden fame as she rescues a fellow student.
I know we’re not Lost, people, but there are a many JoA fans out there. Now is the time to make yourselves known!
See you at 9pm!

Well, I have to admit, this one left me kind of meh.
I did not see Dillon as a sympathetic character at all. She is so clearly a girl who tries to please those around her, and will not stand up for her “hero.” I thought Joan going off on her was completely justified and I don’t see why she felt sorry for her at the end.
God telling Joan that Dillon “lost her hero:” Excuse me, but say again? Dillon didn’t lose her hero. Joan did save her life, there was no “I was never in any danger” possibility here. Dillon was a wimpy bitch who doesn’t have a backbone.
I don’t see Kevin getting further jobs at the TV station, what with his story be “discredited.”
Where was the awards ceremony? At school? Couldn’t anyone tell the AHS newspaper editor was just trying to stir up trouble?
I did like the storyline with Will trying to investigate Lucyfer. And I think we can officially call her Lucyfer now. Oh, yes. Definitely.
I didn’t quite catch Grace’s flip flop on Luke getting a driver’s license. And I can, without equivocation, state that I never want to hear about Friedman “tingling” again.
I guess we get to see another Duff in two weeks. What’s up with that?
Honestly, I think the entire point of tonight’s episode was to show that Joan was NOT a hero…she was just…Joan. She doesn’t try to be anybody other than who she is. That is the “light” people in the darkness are looking for. A sense of their own worth, their own identity.
Also, there was another point being made. Did it really matter whether or not Joan had really saved Dillon’s life? No, what mattered was that Joan believed she had saved her, that was her intent. I thought it was ridiculous that people would make an issue over whether or not Joan had really saved her life. But…yeah…I think that is a pretty fair example of how people really are. Making issues out of things that aren’t even issues. So sad.
This is one of the shows I make a point to watch. (Guilty pleasure I’m sure) I thought they showed Lucy in a evil light more so than usual. Maybe she is the devil??!!
I enjoyed Joan figuring out what Redhead God meant with"knowing" Dillan. Then the dessert challnge.
(Hang in there Ivylass I’m with you:))
One thing that really impressed me about this episode is what they DIDN’T do. They DIDN’T waste our time with another tired nervous-kid-takes-his-driving-test scene. I was cringing at the thought of having to sit through one.
I was also impressed with the Lucy’s coming-out-as-an-evil-bitch scene. I wasn’t blown away by the choice of casting Annie Potts, but she definitely earned her keep with that performance.
The gaping hole in the story was that the newspaper allowed Kevin to write the story about his sister. The Tiny City In The Middle Of Fucking Nowhere Daily News might have let something like that go, but the paper Kevin works for would seem to be large enough and professional enough to know better.
Surprisingly, I was not distracted by the stunt casting of Hilary Duff. Heck, who would be a better choice to play a shallow popular kid?
I thought Lucyfer would have been more subtle. She was rather in-your-face, and I would have liked it if she had continued to play Innocent Misunderstanding and That’s Not What I Meant.
Up until now I was giving Lucyfer a fighting chance. Figures she could just be somoeone who bends the rules* and is attracted to Mr Gerardi. But now I join the “she is evil” club.
Brian
RE Grace- she’s an anarchist kid doing what anarchist kids do, peeing on anything that smacks of American consumerism, but she’s not gonna do something silly like break off hot-Luke-monkey-love over it!
How’s that for a  -inducing visual!
Amen to No More Friedman Tingling!
Obviously, the Duffs like the show AND/OR need a career boost as much as JofA needs a ratings boost. (A very telling TV GUIDE article ran this past week, with some ominous AND ACCURATE comments by Amber herself.)
Lindsay Lohan?
Oh, dear, that doesn’t sound good. Can you link or provide a synopsis?
I couldn’t find the whole article, but here’s a little about it.
I forgot to mention, look at the bottom of the page.
Great. Just perfect. A lovely little show comes along, and the star goes all Diva on us. Can’t her dad smack her upside the head?
I’m bummed now.
Or sic one of those dogs on her, seeing as how he’s Dog Walker God.
Okay, I am normally not one to hold actor’s personalities against them because I don’t really know them but that snippet is pure idiocy and my opinion of Tamblyn just plummeted.
The Hilary Duff appearance wasn’t as bad as I had thought it would be; in fact, I even felt badly (a little) for the character. Whoa on Jason Ritter’s haircut though - but I like it! (I didn’t recognize him at first!!!) I’m still really enjoying the show, as much as I was last year even. And hasn’t Lucy been proven to be pure-D EVIL now or what?! Looks like “trouble in the Jane & Adam paradise” for next week, though!
As to Amber’s comments in the new issue of TV Guide, I can only say that what she is complaining about is a very valid point. IMO, though, it does make AT sound very “diva-ish” and may not have been a good move, career-wise. Maybe TPTB will listen up - because those complaints have also been voiced by some of the most loyal JoA fans. JMHO, mind you.
I think she’s right. The series IS going to wrong direction IMHO. They should listen to her.
The State article slants it as diva-ish from the start. Amber is right on. Joan keeps going through the same circles over & over.
And why?- BECAUSE the TV people are so afraid of having God say something definitive & directive, that He/They keep taking her around in circles with variations of “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey” as the main message-
which C.S. Lewis has noted is about as meaningful as saying that hunger is more important than dinner or self-stimulation than marriage.
