Job reference question...

My dad wants me to apply to a place where he was previously employed. He said in order for me to have a chance at being hired, I should list three of his previous co-workers as ALL of my references.

I know networking and knowing the right people are things that get your foot in the door, but this strategy seems so blatant.

Is he right, should I go ahead and do this? Or should I just list one or two of his co-workers as a reference?

Presumably he’s familiar with the overall atmosphere and hiring policies of this company. It may be the kind of place where they promote heavily from within and when hiring outsiders prefer individuals with some sort of connection with the company and the more the better.

Can you list those three people and perhaps list a fourth if you have a strong reference from elsewhere?
